Bitcoin Difficulty Nears 139 Trillion and Sees Industry Transformation

Bitcoin’s price spent the past seven days pacing between $72,800 and $77,700, according to market data. Those price levels have tightened the screws on mining profitability, weighing on bitcoin mining revenue, or the value generated by 1 petahash per second (PH/s) of computing power per day, a metric better known throughout the industry as hashprice.

As of this weekend, hashprice sits at $33.71 per PH/s per day, meaning miners are earning 4.99% less than they were 30 days ago, according to hashrateindex.com data. What makes the decline more notable is that hashprice briefly touched the $39 per PH/s mark twice over the past month. At its current level, the metric sits 13.56% below those recent highs.

Bad actors have gained unauthorized access to the personal information of thousands of individuals following a security breach involving a Texas-based immigration and case management solution provider. Docketwise says it immediately initiated an investigation with the help of cybersecurity experts after suspecting in October of 2025 that the credentials of one of its third-party partner repositories had been accessed. The company says the compromised information belongs to people whose data the company received in the course of its business relationship with their respective immigration law firms.The Office of the Maine Attorney General says the incident occurred on September 1st, 2025 and was discovered on February 19th, 2026. The breach affects 143,480 people. DocketWise says that the perpetrators acquired names and other personal information.“Following the review, DocketWise determined that some of your personal information was subject to unauthorized acquisition. Please note, we have no evidence to indicate the Incident was intended to target immigration firms, or has resulted in publication of, personally identifiable information (“PII”).”The company’s probe found that the infiltrators used valid credentials to clone third-party repositories, including those used for a DocketWise application data migration pipeline that contained law firm records with their clients’ personal information.Generated Image: Midjourney

Bitcoin ETF selling overwhelmed markets again after last week’s $1.42 billion outflow followed the previous week’s $1.26 billion outflow.

$BTC’s subsequent fall to $72,500 raised concerns that the price would slip back into the $60,000 to $70,000 range that $BTC was locked in during February through April, but Cointelegraph's reporting showed spot volumes kicking in to defend the $70,000 support.

Given the sizeable ETF selling, $BTC inflows to Coinbase and futures market liquidations, the spot CVD data above suggests these dip buyers are not dominant.

Open interest heatmap data, on the other hand, does show nearly $300 million of open interest concentrated in the yellow band representing $73,000 to $74,000, where traders appear to have opened new leveraged long positions.

While ETF outflows and redemptions sync with next-day $BTC inflows to Coinbase exchange, and the knock-on effect of this selling is occasional long liquidations in the futures market, Hyblock’s bid-ask ratio metric (set to 10% aggregate order-book depth) shows a modest bid-side dominant orderbook, reinforcing the view that traders view prices below $75,000 as discounted and are buying as a result.

The indicator ranges from -1 to +1, with values above zero indicating an increasing imbalance in the orderbook structure.

The current longs perps and spot buying activity have not been sustainably sufficient enough to reverse the downtrend, but it is helping to absorb the selling and put a floor (or support) beneath Bitcoin price.

SBI Remit Tops $15B in Transfers as $XRP-Powered Payments Move Into Real-World Scale

SBI Remit has announced a major milestone, with cumulative international money transfers processed through its platform surpassing 2.5 trillion yen, roughly $15 billion.

This achievement underscores both the steady demand for cross-border remittance services and the company’s growing role in modernizing global payments for foreign residents in Japan.

SBI Remit primarily serves expatriates and migrant workers who rely on fast and affordable ways to send money to families and businesses abroad.

In traditional banking systems, these transfers often involve multiple intermediaries, high fees, and delays that can stretch over several days. SBI Remit has positioned itself as a more efficient alternative by leveraging blockchain-based infrastructure.

A key driver of this efficiency is its long-running partnership with Ripple. Since 2017, SBI Remit has used RippleNet, Ripple’s global payments network designed to streamline cross-border transactions with faster settlement times and improved transparency compared to traditional correspondent banking.

This collaboration deepened in 2021 when SBI Remit became the first company in Japan to introduce international remittance services powered by On-Demand Liquidity (ODL).

ODL uses $XRP as a bridge asset, allowing value to move across borders without requiring institutions to pre-fund accounts in destination countries. Instead, liquidity is sourced in real time through digital asset markets, enabling near-instant settlement.
