Spot Bitcoin ETFs Saw $1.257B in Net Outflows Last Week

Last week, net outflows from spot Bitcoin [BTC] ETFs totaled $1.257 billion. The last time such a week-long outflow trend occurred was in December 2025.

On the 18th of May, Bitcoin ETFs saw outflows totaling $648.6 billion, with BlackRock’s IBIT experiencing the largest outflows at $448.4 million.

Bitwise’s BITB, Invesco’s BTCO, Franklin Templeton’s EZBC, VanEck’s HODL, and Fidelity’s FBTC were among the other asset managers that recorded outflows.

For the others, there were no flows.

Chun Wang, the Chinese-born F2Pool co-founder who made his fortune in Bitcoin (BTC) mining, has agreed to command SpaceX's first crewed flyby of Mars.

Chun Wang Buys Mars Flyby

Wang said he has purchased seats on two upcoming Starship missions, a development first reported by industry outlets after a SpaceX livestream. The company confirmed the two-year voyage will travel beyond the Earth-Moon system, swing past Mars, and return home.

No launch date has been set for either trip.

Before the interplanetary attempt, Wang will join a weeklong commercial flight around the Moon. He is expected to fly alongside Dennis and Akiko Tito, passing roughly 125 miles above the lunar surface.

I was still a newby, tied to another exchange at the time and was not happy with it. I'm not gonna name it, cause that's not the point...My friend noticed that and offered me solution. I was so lost I still didn't knew what all this charts and terms mean. Couldn't destinct FOMO from WAGMI if my life depended on it 😅 The charts - still looked like something I learned in school in math class but never quite got ...My focus was more on chasing small rewards while I learn how to trade and learning this new trading language that everyone speak but me 🙈🙉🙊.  
That's how I end up discovering HTX Community. And my friend was right. It had so much to offer... As I said I was focused on small rewards, so first thing he recommended was - daily check in and making points in Reward hub so I fill in the 20

reward. 
"It's a sure thing, just check in, and listen to the live streams ,for now that's enough" - he reassured me.
I started doing the check ins ,sure the reward hub was filling but it was somehow slow 🦥. This is where the HTX Community jumps in. I learned to distinguish what lives fill in the reward hub and which ones fill in my spot wallet. That was great discovery, both were good. But what I learned listening to the live streams was GOLD! I started picking up what they talk about, started learning basic terms ,diffrent projects ,what is DeFi, even the charts ! 📈📉- BTW whoever made this emojies made them backward and it's so annoying 😅.
 So the live streams were filling my reward hub but even better- were teaching me all about crypto ! That's how I dared to start trading on my own.. I learned patience, waiting for the right entry is better than chasing pumps. Learned how to stay safe. Became part of this community that I love. And that feels better than any reward..Thanks HTXCommunity 💙🤍

This week he made one change he believes will fundamentally improve his long-term returns. He handed trade decision authority to an AI.

Van de Poppe has integrated Claude as a full-time sparring partner for every position in his altcoin portfolio, building a custom framework around sigma deviations, RSI triggers, and Bitcoin correlation analysis that generates specific buy and sell signals rather than general market commentary.

Where the AI Already Overruled Him

The most revealing moment came when Van de Poppe wanted to sell a position and Claude told him to wait.

The AI analysed the framework, reviewed the charts, and concluded the asset had not yet reached the exit zone. Van de Poppe held. He admitted it felt uncomfortable sitting on a 41% portfolio allocation into a single asset while the AI was saying do nothing.

“It clearly says it starts to get into a run at this point. There are still a lot of levels to go before we can start selling,” the framework indicated on his NEAR position, with the exit zone set between €1.75 and €1.85 before any trimming begins.

A sharp price decline between January and February caused an initial spike in volatility, especially due to the lack of a clear rationale for the move. Even as Bitcoin traded in a relatively narrow range between $63,000 and $71,000 in March, implied volatility held above 50%.

Traders became increasingly confident in the support level near $60,000, leading to a lower risk perception and a subsequent reduction in volatility. Some analysts claim the Bitcoin price has been tamed due to growing institutional participation and the expansion of derivatives products, including Strategy’s perpetual stocks.
