During a recent episode of "$XRP in a Minute" hosted by Ripple, Flare co-founder and CEO Hugo Philion responded to the question "Can $XRP generate yield?" by highlighting opportunities in DeFi.
$XRP is well known for its payments capabilities, but according to Flare cofounder and CEO Hugo Philion, it has more to offer. Philion stressed Flare's goal of turning $XRP into a collateral asset instead of merely a transaction payment asset on the $XRP ledger.
Philion answered in the affirmative to the question of whether $XRP can be used in strategies involving lending and vaults. The Flare CEO highlighted how $XRP holders can participate in such strategies involving lending and vaults.

Bitcoin And Ethereum Bled This Week - But These 4 Altcoins Jumped, One Up 157%
Artificial intelligence-focused Allora led this week’s crypto gainers with a 157.5% rally, while RollX, LAB, and Humanity posted gains between 87% and 113%.

The gains came despite weakness in the two largest cryptocurrencies, with Bitcoin falling more than 3% and Ethereum losing over 4% during the past week.

Crypto trader Don Wedge said the moves could signal an early rotation into altcoins, though he cautioned that a broader altcoin season has not yet been confirmed.

While Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) bled this week but four altcoins ripped higher stoking debate over whether capital is finally rotating into smaller tokens.

AI-focused Allora's price (ALLO) led the group with a 157.5% weekly gain as investor interest in artificial intelligence (AI)-linked projects continued to attract capital. On Stocktwits, the retail sentiment around ALLO remained in the ‘extremely bullish’ zone, while chatter around it stayed ‘extremely high over the past day.

ROLL’s price, the governance and utility token of decentralized trading platform RollX, climbed 113.5% over the past week. On Stocktwits, the retail sentiment around ROLL stayed in the ‘bullish’ zone, while chatter around it remained in the ‘low’ levels over the past day.

Likewise, LAB’s price, the native token of multi-chain trading terminal LAB, which lets users trade across Solana (SOL), Ethereum, and BNB Chain from a single interface, rose 106.2% over the last seven days. On Stocktwits, the retail sentiment around LAB moved to ‘extremely bullish’ from ‘bullish’ zone, while chatter around it moved to ‘extremely high’ from ‘high’ levels over the past day.

Humanity (H), a digital identity platform that uses palm-scanning technology to verify users on-chain, gained 87.5% over the week.

A sweeping new executive order from President Donald Trump reshapes how millions of unbanked immigrants may interact with crypto and the US financial system, and who stands to benefit.

Trump has recently signed an executive order “to restore integrity to America’s financial system,” directing federal regulators, including the Treasury Department, to tighten fraud screening and customer identification protocols for undocumented immigrants accessing financial services. The White House cited “gaps in customer identification practices” exploited by criminal networks.

Policy analysts note the directive could functionally push a large, cash-dependent population further outside traditional banking, and toward crypto rails, stablecoins, and Bitcoin ATMs. It is, ironically, the same pressure that Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. have publicly cited as the origin story of World Liberty Financial: “We got into crypto because, out of necessity, we were debanked.”
