U.S. Inflation Expected To Fall to Around 3% in June, Lowest in Two Years

Headline U.S. inflation, due next week, is expected to fall to around 3 percent in June, the lowest in two years, according to the Wall Street Journal. Excluding volatile food and energy prices, core consumer price inflation is expected to ease to around 5% from 5.3%, the lowest level in 18 months. Economists believe core inflation could fall further in the coming months, to between 3.5% and 4%, depending on the price index.
