Google Lures Former Employees for AI Startups to Compete for Early Cloud Clients

According to monitoring by Beating, Google has announced support for an incubator program aimed at AI startups founded by former employees (Xooglers) to deepen collaboration with its alumni network and compete for early cloud service and chip clients. The first phase of the project is supported by the Google AI Futures Fund and plans to recruit 10 to 20 startups, providing 12 weeks of incubation support. Selected startups will receive up to $100,000 in funding, along with $350,000 worth of Google Cloud and AI credits. In addition to financial and computational support, a team of former Google executives will offer mentorship to entrepreneurs, including former Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer. Startups will also gain early access to Google's latest AI technologies before public release. Partners of the new incubator include the alumni community platform Xoogler.co, founded by former employee Chris Fong, and the venture project Key Studio, initiated by former employee Kushagra Shrivastava. Currently, Xoogler.co has over 35,000 global members, including 2,500 certified investors. As AI giants like OpenAI and Anthropic, founded by former Google employees, continue to rise, Google is actively persuading more startups to use its self-developed computing chips and cloud services. By locking in a large ecosystem of former employee startups, Google aims to establish technological ties in the early stages and nurture future major clients.
