Ether founder Vitalik Buterin said on social media that my concerns about VR are similar to some anti-cryptocurrency people's concerns about cryptocurrency: it feels like people are "in love with the idea of it " in a way that far exceeds its practical application. Like cryptocurrencies, I do think that important applications exist. But "VR for VR's sake" is not going to work.
