Citigroup CEO: Support for tokenized deposits, the market's focus on stablecoins is excessive

Jane Fraser, CEO of Citigroup, explicitly stated that tokenized deposits, rather than stablecoins, will be the main driver of the next generation of payment and financial market infrastructure. During the third quarter earnings call with investors, she mentioned that institutional clients are seeking low-cost, compliant, and seamless real-time cross-border fund flows, and tokenized deposits are the best way to achieve a secure, reliable, multi-bank interoperable, and always-online payment solution.
