From Leek Glasses to On-Chain Danmaku and DEV Pumping: How Creative Was the Solana Online Hackathon?

From January 20 to January 30, 2026, the Solana Online Hackathon, jointly initiated by Trends and the Solana Chinese community, was officially held. As a fully online development event, this hackathon used X as the main platform for project submission and display. Developers published project introductions, code, and demo links to directly undergo public review by the community and judges.

Unlike traditional hackathons that rely on a unified backend for submissions, this event adopted a more open participation method. Competing projects were displayed through a public timeline, allowing judges and community members to directly test, interact, and provide feedback. This low-barrier, high-exposure selection mechanism led to a concentrated emergence of numerous product-oriented and experience-focused projects in a short period.

During the ten-day submission and review cycle, participating projects covered multiple directions including trading and strategy bots, Alpha discovery tools, internet capital markets, and consumer and entertainment applications. Compared to emphasizing grand narratives or underlying infrastructure, the projects that emerged from this hackathon focused more on real usage scenarios, attempting to address long-standing issues like trading efficiency, information noise, and user experience through AI, automation, and gamification.

Project Introduction: A roguelike card strategy mini-game that融合 (fuses) the mechanics of "Balatro." Players influence price trends by constantly combining card effects, completing weekly escalating challenge goals amidst randomness and strategic gameplay. (Inspired by the game Insider Trading)

Core Gameplay: The game's goal is to complete weekly tasks: The player starts with a fixed initial capital of 1000, and the stock price is fixed at 100. The entire game is divided into 4 weeks, with 5 rounds of play possible each week.

During the game, each card has its own special effect. Players influence the stock price by triggering their hand. Each day, the player can draw one red card and one green card from a randomly refreshed card pool. The drawn cards combine with 8 cards randomly dealt by the system to form a hand.

Players can freely order their hand, performing actions by playing combos and triggering special effects. Each card trigger affects the stock price.
