Bitcoin ETFs see outflows for third day in a row, signaling a shift in investor sentiment. Net outflows from US spot Bitcoin ETFs for the third day in a row signal a fading of the optimism that reigned at the start of the new year in the digital asset sector. This trend suggests that institutional and retail investors are entering a strategic "risk-off" phase, influenced by both technical factors and changes in the macroeconomic environment.

According to Farside, net outflows from spot Bitcoin ETFs totaled $205.5 million on Thursday, bringing the cumulative net outflow over the three days to approximately $934.8 million. While the seven-day trailing net inflow remains positive at $240.7 million, this sudden shift suggests that the typical "buy the rally" rally of early January has slowed.

 Factors Driving a Tactical Retreat

Analysts believe the current trend reflects a period of tactical position adjustments rather than a collapse in fundamental demand.

Director of Research Sean Dawson notes that ETF investors are currently facing a "perfect storm" of adverse factors. The most significant factor was Bitcoin's failure to break through the $92,000 to $94,000 resistance zone. Furthermore, macroeconomic uncertainty has resurfaced. Rising jobless claims in the US and geopolitical events, particularly the US military action in Venezuela, have forced traders to reassess risk across asset classes. As a result, Bitcoin's year-to-date gains, which peaked at 8% on Wednesday, had nearly halved to 4% by Thursday evening.

Supply Failure and Blockchain Reality

Blockchain data shows that Bitcoin's short-term recovery faces significant challenges.  According to Glassnode data, there is a significant "supply gap" between $92,100 and $117,400.

Ethereum[ETH]-based crypto assets may still be safe even if more than half of the operations are overtaken by a hostile entity. 

According to Ethereum Co-Founder Vitalik Buterin, the blockchain’s key security core wouldn’t allow the so-called “51% attack” to make an “invalid block valid.” 

Hence, users’ funds will be safe unless validators act outside Ethereum’s control after the attack (trust the hacker’s validator sets).

YZi Labs, an independent investment firm led by Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, has invested in onchain trading terminal Genius Trading, highlighting growing investor attention on cross-chain trading infrastructure.

While financial terms were not disclosed, YZi Labs said Tuesday that it made an eight-figure investment in the company. Zhao is also joining Genius Trading as an advisor, according to the announcement.

Two major cryptocurrency exchanges have contributed more than $21 million to MAGA Inc., a political action committee supporting President Donald Trump, according to Federal Election Commission filings submitted last Friday.


Crypto.com’s parent company, Foris Dax, made two separate donations totaling $20 million between September and October 2025. Gemini Trust Company, the exchange founded by the Winklevoss twins, contributed $1.5 million in USDC stablecoin, which was immediately converted to cash upon receipt.


The contributions helped push MAGA Inc.’s total cash reserves to approximately $294 million, creating one of the largest political war chests ahead of this year’s congressional elections.

Ukraine Blocks Polymarket Over ‘War Bets’ as Global Crackdown Widens

Ukraine joins a growing wave of global restrictions on Polymarket, blocking access over war-related wagers


Ukraine has gone ahead to restrict entry into Polymarket, which is further escalating an expanding global crackdown on prediction markets that regulators are increasingly considering to be illegal gambling or derivatives trading.

The ruling has drawn fresh scrutiny to the fast-growing crypto platform, raising questions about whether markets tied to real-world events can operate alongside national gambling, financial, and public policy rules, especially on matters involving war and geopolitics.

The ban was issued on Dec. 10, 2025, by Ukraine’s National Commission for the Regulation of Electronic Communications under Resolution No. 695.

The order requires internet service providers to restrict access to online resources that organize, conduct, or facilitate gambling activities without a valid domestic license.

South Korean exchange Upbit accounted for 45% of IP's $272 million trading volume during the rally.


The token broke through a prolonged downtrend that started in October 2025, crossing above key moving averages.


Story Protocol launched a community engagement campaign to reward long-term holders coinciding with the price surge.


The price of Story Protocol’s IP token rose by more than 26% over the previous 24 hours to peak at $2.90, beating the cryptocurrency market and signaling the token’s largest intraday increase since October 2025.


According to data from CoinMarketCap, IP IP $2.82 24h volatility: 24.9% Market cap: $959.04 M Vol. 24h: $292.89 M has settled to $2.75 as of the time of this article’s publication. This follows a 24-hour period during which the token saw nearly $272 million in trading volume. South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Upbit reportedly drove 45% of this volume, propelling an overall bullish sentiment for IP as the second full week of trading for the year gets underway.

Community Sentiment Drives Price Activity
