The price of Ethereum has continued to stabilize above the $3,100 level, a zone that functions as both a psychological benchmark and a short-term technical pivot. As of January 13, 2026, the Ethereum price today is fluctuating between roughly $3,106 and $3,136 across major exchanges, reflecting relatively contained intraday movement compared with the volatility seen during late-2025 sell-offs.

An examination of ETH/USD and ETH/USDT charts across daily and weekly timeframes shows price compressing within a narrow range, suggesting indecision rather than directional conviction. Binance data indicates approximately $8.79 billion in 24-hour trading volume, while ETH/USDT remains locked in consolidation. From a market-structure perspective, holding above the $3,000 psychological level has so far limited deeper downside, even as broader risk sentiment across crypto remains mixed.

Tokenized Gold Accounts for 25% of RWA Growth as Trading Volume Overtakes Gold ETFs

A new report from cryptocurrency exchange CEX.IO shows that tokenized gold became one of the fastest-growing segments of the real-world asset (RWA) market in 2025.

Trading activity and market expansion outpaced many traditional gold investment products.

According to the report, tokenized gold recorded a 177% increase in market capitalization in 2025, expanding from roughly $1.6 billion to $4.4 billion. This added nearly $2.8 billion in net value accounting for around 25% of all net RWA growth over the year.

In contrast the broader DeFi market struggled to regain momentum with total value locked (TVL) rising by just 2% while RWAs grew by approximately 184% making them crypto’s standout performer.

CEX.IO notes that tokenized gold expanded 2.6 times faster than physical gold which itself saw a strong year amid inflation concerns and geopolitical uncertainty.

The category also registered a 198% increase in total holders, adding more than 115,000 new wallets—growth that outpaced tokenized U.S. Treasuries and other tokenized bonds.

Trading activity tells an even more striking story. Tokenized gold trading volume jumped 1,550% year-on-year, reaching $178 billion in total volume in 2025. In the fourth quarter alone volume exceeded $126 billion surpassing the combined trading volume of five major gold ETFs.


While SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) remained the single largest gold investment product by volume the report estimates that tokenized gold would rank as the second-largest gold investment vehicle globally by trading volume ahead of every ETF except GLD. This highlights a structural shift in where gold trading liquidity is forming increasingly moving on-chain.

Bitcoin’s price [BTC] hit a local high of $94.7k on Monday, 05 January. In an earlier report, AMBCrypto highlighted why analysts thought that a retracement towards $80.6k was likely.

The presence of liquidation levels above the $94.5k local resistance and a cluster of liquidations below the local support at $84k held the answer to this expectation. Such a price drop may be playing out, though it might be too early to be certain.

After reaching Monday’s high, Bitcoin fell by 2.40%, with the crypto trading at $92.5k at press time. Despite the risk of a short-term price drop, however, there is compelling evidence that sidelined liquidity could step in and help in BTC’s recovery.

Bitcoin’s buying power and the net capital flow clues
In a post on CryptoQuant Insights, analyst Darkfost observed that the current Bitcoin/stablecoin data “remains highly constructive.” Fresh stablecoin inflows to the exchange, combined with the falling BTC price during the correction in December, saw the ratio fall lower.

It showed that there was high buying power in the market. The signal it gave at the time of writing was “especially compelling”. The ratio has jumped higher since the start of January, which could mark the early stages of capital deployment.

Analyst Axel Adler observed that overall capital flows remained negative from 26 December to 03 January. This meant realized losses outweighed realized profits, with peak pressure on 26 December.

By the end of the week, the capital flows had become weakly positive. Realized profits slightly outweighed the losses. Glassnode data confirmed the bullish shift in recent days.

Finally, the 7-day moving average of the Bitcoin profit/loss ratio had been below 1 for the better part of December, but it pivoted back above 1 – Reaching 1.78.

The fall in Bitcoin supply in circulation, alongside strong ETF inflows, supported the idea that Bitcoin could make further gains in the coming weeks.
