GetBlock Magazine - Что произошло? Группа компаний Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (NYSE:SMFG), которая управляет вторым по величине японским банком SMBC, планирует запустить собственный стейблкоин. Для этого она сотрудничает с компанией Ava Labs, стоящей за разработкой блокчейна Avalanche (AVAX), и институциональным кастодианом Fireblocks.

Что еще известно? Ava Labs будет отвечать за создание актива, а Fireblocks разработает систему управления токенами. Также банковский гигант планирует сотрудничать с местной ИТ-фирмой TIS для тестирования актива во второй половине 2025 года. Ожидается, что он может быть запущен уже в 2026 году.

Стейблкоины способны оптимизировать трансграничные платежи и снизить транзакционные издержки, тогда как существующая система межбанковского сообщения SWIFT часто включает посредников, что приводит к более высоким комиссиям и более длительному времени обработки операций.

Ранее SMBC уже запускала инициативы в области Web3. Так, в 2022 году совместно с местной фирмой HashPort она запустила Token Business Lab для предоставления NFT-сервисов.

Позже в том же году обе компании объявили о пробной эмиссии токенов Soulbound, также известных как непередаваемые NFT, которые могут использоваться для проверки личности.

В прошлом году SMBC заявляла о планах по запуску пилотного трансграничного проекта стейблкоинов с двумя другими крупными японскими банками: Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group и Mizuho Financial Group (TYO:8411).
