Жительница британского городка Маркет-Гарборо Элли Гарт (Ellie Hart) потеряла доступ к флэшке, где хранился доступ к криптокошельку, на котором хранились биткоины на сумму более $3,8 млн. Об этом сообщает Daily Star.

По словам Элли Гарт, которая работала учительницей, она решила навести порядок в ящиках и, не задумываясь, избавилась от флешки вместе со старыми чеками, батарейками и кабелями. Женщина думала, что это один из ее рабочих USB-носителей. На самом деле устройство содержало доступ к криптокошельку ее партнера Тома, который приобрел биткоины еще в 2013 году.

После безуспешных поисков, Том поинтересовался, не видела ли она маленький черный USB-накопитель, который он использовал для хранения биткоинов.

«Я замерла. Я мгновенно поняла. Мое сердце просто оборвалось. Я сказала ему: “Кажется, я его выбросила”. Меня накрыла волна паники», — сказала Харт.
