По данным компании, подозрительная активность началась 19 января в момент запуска токена MELANIA. Основной кошелек, отмеченный как 0xcEA, заработал $2,4 млн на монете первой леди США. Эти средства быстро перевели на другой адрес в сети Avalanche.

После появления LIBRA кошелек использовал аналогичную тактику, получив дополнительные $6 млн. Подобные действия, по мнению Bubblemaps, указывают на единую команду, стоящую за обоими проектами.

Эксперты подчеркнули, что 0xcEA и используемые для финансирования LIBRA кошельки связаны цепочкой транзакций, проходящих через несколько блокчейнов, включая Solana и Arbitrum.

Кроме того, 0xcEA связывают с рядом других схем типа Pump & Dump. Среди них запуск поддельного токена Robinhood (HOOD), капитализация которого сначала достигла $120 млн, а затем упала до $12 млн.

Хэйден Дэвис, CEO компании Kelsier Ventures, которая фактически выполняет функции кастодиана и поставщика ликвидности LIBRA, заявил в видеообращении, что курс монеты обрушился из-за действий президента страны Хавьера Милея. Однако ончейн-данные указали на то, что основным фактором краха курса монеты стали продажи инсайдеров.

Дэвис также заявил о готовности вернуть $100 млн и настоял на невиновности «компании-спонсора LIBRA» — KIP Protocol. В свою очередь KIP назвал LIBRA проектом Kelsier.

Согласно Reuters, представители оппозиции в Аргентине пригрозили президенту импичментом из-за его связи с LIBRA. В Аргентинской ассоциации финтеха заявили, что ситуация может быть примером Pump & Dump.

Юристы подали иск против президента, заявив, что его действия сыграли ключевую роль в скандале с токеном LIBRA, пишет Associated Press.

«В рамках этой незаконной схемы было совершено мошенничество, а роль президента оказалась центральной», — заявил один из истцов, адвокат Джонатан Бальдивиесо.
