Near Protocol анонсировал разработку крупнейшей в мире модели искусственного интеллекта с открытым исходным кодом, признанной экстремистской в России Meta.

Амбициозный проект был представлен на конференции Redacted в Бангкоке. Разработка будет осуществляться через краудсорсинговые исследования на новой платформе Near AI Research hub, где участники уже сегодня могут присоединиться к тренировке начальной модели с 500 миллионами параметров.

Особенности проекта

Развитие системы планируется через семь последовательных моделей возрастающей сложности. При этом только лучшие разработчики получат доступ к работе над более продвинутыми версиями. Монетизация проекта и защита конфиденциальности будут обеспечены через использование зашифрованных Trusted Execution Environments.

По словам сооснователя Near Protocol Ильи Полосухина (Illia Polosukhin), затраты на обучение модели составят около $160 млн. «Это значительная сумма, но в криптоиндустрии такие средства привлечь реально», — отметил он.

«Держатели токенов будут получать вознаграждение от использования модели. У нас есть бизнес-модель, способы монетизации, привлечения средств и их реинвестирования в следующие версии», — добавил Полосухин.

Near — один из немногих криптопроектов, способных реализовать столь масштабную задачу. Полосухин является соавтором революционной работы о трансформерах, которая легла в основу ChatGPT, а второй сооснователь Алекс Скиданов (Alex Skidanov) работал в OpenAI перед выпуском этой модели в конце 2022 года.

Технические вызовы

Скиданов, возглавляющий Near AI, признает наличие серьезных препятствий. Для обучения такой крупной модели потребуются «десятки тысяч GPU в одном месте», что не идеально. А для использования децентрализованной сети вычислений «нужна новая технология, которой пока не существует». Впрочем, последние исследования Deep Mind указывают на возможность решения этой проблемы.

Децентрализованный ИИ как необходимость

Выступивший на конференции Эдвард Сноуден (Edward Snowden) подчеркнул риски централизованного ИИ для приватности. «Это, вероятно, важнейшая технология сейчас и в будущем. Если ИИ контролируется одной компанией, мы фактически будем делать то, что она скажет», — заявил он.

«Если весь ИИ и экономика сосредоточены в руках одной компании, о децентрализации речи не идет. Философия Web3 остается актуальной только при наличии ИИ, следующего тем же принципам», — добавил Сноуден.
