Looking at daily data, the forced liquidation pressure in the Korean stock market last week surged notably on July 9, with actual reverse transactions reaching approximately 142.197 billion won, accounting for 10.2% of the unpaid amount, the highest for the week. On July 10, the amount remained around 81.613 billion won, representing 5.7%. The three preceding trading days recorded 39.698 billion won, 31.741 billion won, and 28.846 billion won, respectively. The term 'reverse transaction' refers to the mandatory sale of stocks by securities firms when investors fail to replenish funds after buying stocks on margin or with unsettled funds. This data does not equate to the 'number of liquidated positions' but reflects the scale of passive clearing of leveraged accounts during market downturns.
