Standard Chartered: Bitcoin Expected to Reach $100,000 by Year-End

On August 20, Standard Chartered analyst Geoff Kendrick stated that Bitcoin could rise to $100,000 by the end of 2026, with a current key technical level at $65,500. If this level is breached, it may confirm that the low point of the current cycle has been reached. He noted, "Investors should position themselves for Bitcoin to rise to $100,000 before the end of 2026." In addition to Bitcoin's four-year cycle factors, Kendrick also mentioned that the U.S. Treasury recently announced it would at least double the maximum scale of liquidity support for long-term Treasury bond repurchase operations. The maximum repurchase scale for nominal coupon Treasury bonds with maturities of 10 to 20 years and 20 to 30 years will be increased from $2 billion to at least $4 billion, with the expansion plan to be implemented from September 9 to November 4. Following the announcement, U.S. long-term Treasury yields fell significantly, alleviating some of the pressure that previous bond sell-offs had placed on financial markets. Kendrick stated that the Treasury's actions are "exactly the type that Bitcoin favors," and pointed out that Bitcoin has historically benefited from government liquidity interventions.
