The Engendro Velho farm, located in Paraná, Brazil, received a loan of nearly $20K using a herd of 10 cows as collateral, using decentralized technology to digitize the information of each cow.

The farmer received the Financial Rural Product Note (CPR-F) valued at nearly $100K from BMP, a direct credit society, and the deliverables (each cow) were assigned to Target FIDC, a fintech company that registered the transaction using each animal’s data.

While this kind of transaction is not new, the tokenization and monitoring of the cows enables farmers to get a better deal, as creditors can examine the status of the herd at any time, lowering the risks associated with such a loan.

Humberto Brenner, a director at Target FIDC, stressed that this element can lead to a cow reaching up to 2.5 times the price it would have in similar non-monitored agreements.

The figures suggest protocol revenue is becoming less closely tied to token prices, even as investors continue to judge projects largely by market sentiment. Marketprice analysisSky posted the strongest quarterly revenue growth among the 10 largest crypto projects, with revenue rising 74.2% from the previous quarter. Despite that performance, its SKY token fell 24.5% over the past 90 days and 27.3% over the past year, creating the widest revenue-to-price gap in the group.Investor Defi Rocketeer described SKY as one of the clearest examples of strong protocol fundamentals failing to lift a token’s price. The analyst noted that Sky generated $420.6 million in trailing 12-month revenue, while annual revenue increased 11.2%.

Much of Sky’s income comes from stability fees and yields tied to real-world assets and US Treasuries. Even so, the stronger revenue has yet to translate into sustained gains for the token.

Speaking on The Peter Schiff Show Podcast, the economist and longtime Bitcoin critic said the AI trade cracked open this week even as broader indexes held up. Alphabet fell 10% after the company announced higher capital spending than investors expected. Oracle dropped nearly 8% on the week and is now down 41% for the year. Meta fell 7.3%, Amazon lost 6.8%, and Microsoft slipped 2.7%, pushing its year to date decline to 19.3%, close to bear market territory.

Schiff said the market’s reaction marks a shift from prior quarters, when hyperscalers announcing bigger artificial intelligence (AI) budgets typically saw their share prices climb. “Investors are now finally starting to question whether or not these investments are in fact going to pay off,” he said.

SpaceX shares dropped another 7.7% during the week and now trade 49% below the stock’s post IPO high. The company’s public float is set to expand from 5% to 40% of shares by the end of the year, a change Schiff explained could add further pressure on the stock.

Tesla fell 18% over the same stretch and sits 35% below its 52 week high. Together, the declines in Tesla and SpaceX cost Elon Musk close to $100 billion in a single week, according to Schiff’s estimates.

The gold proponent and economist compared the roughly three-quarters of a trillion dollars in annual AI capital spending to the buildout that preceded the dot-com crash. He said many of the early internet favorites that investors poured money into eventually went bankrupt without ever recovering their spending. Bitcoin $BTC$65,250.07, the leading cryptocurrency by market value, is back above $65,000, with prices up about 1.2% over 24 hours. Ether (ETH) has risen by over 3% to nearly $1,950 alongside 1% to 2% gains in other top 10 token, including solana (SOL) and $XRP ($XRP).

Futures tied to WTI gapped lower on Monday, trading around 5% lower at $85 as of this writing, while those linked to Nasdaq and S&P 500 traded half a percent higher. Currency markets also showed risk-on trends, with the Aussie dollar and euro gaining against the U.S. dollar.

The United States and Iran paused military strikes against each other for a second consecutive day, creating room for a diplomatic breakthrough. The war, which began in late February, entered a fragile ceasefire in the second quarter, but it quickly unraveled.

Iran reportedly said that it would continue to halt airstrikes as long as the U.S. did the same, marking a tenous start of what appears to be yet another peace process.

Amid this sector-wide trend reversal, MemeCore [M] also rebounded, successfully holding $1.1 and climbing to a local high of 1.329.

As of this writing, MemeCore was trading around $1.32, after rising by 11.2% on the daily charts. However, its trading volume dropped by 13%, suggesting that market participation is yet to recover.

MemeCore demand recovers amid sector-wide capital rotation
As the sector-wide momentum shifted, M traders also rushed to position themselves, fearing they would miss out.

As a result, the memecoin’s Open Interest climbed by 9.4% to $25.66 million. Such a jump in OI suggested increased participation as traders opened new positions.

Meanwhile, the memecoin’s Long/Short Ratio jumped above 1 across exchanges. The overall ratio was around 1.07 as of this writing, reflecting high demand for long positions.

This implies that traders mostly opened long positions, indicating bullishness as traders expected the market to continue rising.

On the spot side, the same sentiment was observed. According to CoinGlass data, the memecoin spot netflow flipped negative on the 24-hour timeframe.

At press time, the Netflow was -$26k, suggesting traders also purchased in an attempt to chase the rally. Often, strong demand, especially speculative, has preceded strong short-term price pumps.
