Is XRP set for another breakout or have its best days passed?
The future of Ripple’s XRP remains a hot topic as investors debate whether the cryptocurrency has room for further growth or if its best days are behind it. Roundtable anchor, Rob Nelson, sat down with Armando Pantoja, Futurist and Founder of Quant Index, to discuss XRP’s price trajectory, its historical challenges, and the broader trends in the cryptocurrency market.
“If you’re chasing XRP now, you might have missed the window,” Rob Nelson remarked, pointing to the tendency of investors to jump on trends late. Pantoja, however, offered a more optimistic view, stating, “A lot of its growth may be gone, but it’s not all the way over. XRP is still likely going to $8, maybe even higher.” He emphasized the significant return potential from its current price, despite increased risks compared to a few weeks ago.
Pantoja delved into the history of XRP, noting its previous all-time high of around $3.70 to $3.80 during 2017 or early 2018. “At that time, bitcoin was around $10,000 to $12,000, and as bitcoin rises, it naturally pulls up altcoins. XRP, however, missed out on that benefit due to the SEC pressure,” he explained, emphasizing how regulatory challenges hindered the cryptocurrency’s growth relative to the broader market.
Looking ahead, Pantoja highlighted the role of bitcoin halving in driving cryptocurrency bull cycles. “The halving is the main catalyst, raising all ships in the crypto tide. Even without innovation or developments, XRP should naturally rise to $8 just by following bitcoin’s cycle,” he concluded, suggesting that XRP’s potential is far from exhausted as the market gears up for another bull run.
