Bitcoin (BTC-USD) briefly dipped below support before bouncing back above $75,000 in a V-shaped recovery, highlighting how thin liquidity is magnifying both losses and gains. The token traded around $75,265.11 at press time, while other cryptocurrencies also recorded steep declines.

According to data from Coinglass, over $850 million in bullish bets (long positions) were wiped out in a matter of hours on Saturday when prices started to crumble, eventually adding up to nearly $2.5 billion.

These liquidations occur when traders borrow money to bet that the price will rise; once the price hits a certain "trap door," exchanges automatically sell their holdings to repay the debt. This creates a “domino effect” — forced selling leads to lower prices, which trigger even more liquidations. Across the board, nearly 200,000 traders had their accounts “blown out” on Saturday, the report added.

Furthermore, crypto markets saw another wave of forced selling over the past 12 hours, with $510 million in leveraged positions wiped out. Long trades comprised the bulk of losses at $391.6 million, reflecting crowded bullish positioning, while shorts accounted for $118.6 million, CoinDesk reported. American fast food chain Steak ‘n Shake has announced that all hourly employees at company-operated restaurants will receive a Bitcoin (BTC) bonus for every hour worked starting March 1, 2026.

Each eligible employee will earn $0.21 worth of BTC per hour.
Only employees who have completed a two-year vesting period can claim the digital asset pay.
The program is supported by Fold, a financial services platform offering BTC rewards on payments.
Steak ‘n Shake stated that its BTC integration has boosted same-store sales, with all BTC revenue going into the company’s Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR). Recently, the company expanded its reserve by an additional $10 million in notional value.
