Michael Saylor’s reputation for buying Bitcoin near local highs is less a timing flaw than a function of how the treasury model works, according to Metaplanet Director of Bitcoin Strategy Dylan LeClair. In an interview, LeClair argued that the apparent pattern reflects when capital markets are most open, not a deliberate effort to chase peaks.

LeClair said the criticism misunderstands the mechanics behind Strategy’s buying. “The Bitcoin treasury model is very pro-cyclical,” he said. “So when times are good, generally over a four-year market or minute to minute, it’s easiest to raise capital. And so the capital markets are wide open when Bitcoin’s strong for common equity. But when it’s weak, they’re not.”

That dynamic, he said, helps explain why Strategy’s purchases often arrive when Bitcoin is already trading strongly. If the company’s stock is performing well and its enterprise value is rich relative to its Bitcoin holdings, it becomes easier and more attractive to issue equity and convert that capital into more BTC. “When we sell stock, we buy literally minute to minute,” LeClair said, referring to Saylor’s own description of the process. “So when a weekly purchase comes out, people are like, well, Strategy bought the range high again. Well, it’s like, no, the causality is reversed.”

In LeClair’s telling, Strategy is not buying strength because it wants to pay up. It is buying when its financing window is strongest. That distinction matters, especially for listed Bitcoin treasury companies whose capital-raising ability is tightly linked to sentiment, equity multiples, and market liquidity.

Aave launches V4 on Ethereum with shared liquidity model for onchain lending



Aave Labs has launched Aave V4 on Ethereum mainnet, introducing a new architecture designed to make onchain lending more scalable and flexible. The release marks the protocol’s biggest structural change since V1 and comes after more than two years of development.

The core change is V4’s hub and spoke model. Under the new setup, a central liquidity hub holds assets while connected spoke markets can define their own collateral types, risk settings, and liquidation rules. That allows multiple lending environments to share one pool of capital instead of each market needing to bootstrap deposits on its own.

Aave says that design should let very different use cases sit on top of the same liquidity base, from more conservative institutional style markets to ETH correlated borrowing setups and strategy-focused environments. At launch, V4 goes live on Ethereum with three liquidity hubs, including Core, Prime, and Plus, alongside e-Mode spokes for closely correlated collateral and borrowed assets.

The protocol is also rolling out Aave Pro, a new interface built for V4 that gives users a single view across hubs and spokes, including rates, health factor, and risk premium data. Aave said the aim is to keep the user experience familiar even as the underlying market structure becomes more modular.

The launch comes with deliberately conservative supply and borrow caps. Aave said those limits will be raised gradually by governance as live usage is observed, reflecting a cautious rollout for a system meant to support a wider range of lending markets over time.

The protocol says it has processed more than $1 trillion in cumulative loans and controls over half of the decentralized lending market. Recent market data also points to Aave remaining the dominant player in DeFi lending going into the V4 launch

The company now holds approximately 4.7 million ETH, valued at over $9.5 billion, representing close to 3.9% of the total Ethereum supply.

A significant portion of these holdings—over 3.1 million ETH—is staked, generating annualized yield through its in-house validator infrastructure.

The accelerated buying suggests a more active accumulation strategy, with the firm continuing to increase exposure during a period it describes as late-stage market consolidation.

Strategy reports no Bitcoin purchases during the same period

In contrast, Strategy disclosed in a March 30 Form 8-K filing that it did not purchase any Bitcoin between March 23 and March 29, nor did it issue shares under its at-the-market program during that time.

The company continues to hold approximately 762,099 BTC, acquired at an aggregate cost of $57.69 billion, with an average purchase price of about $75,694 per coin.

Despite the pause in accumulation, Strategy remains the largest corporate Bitcoin holder globally, controlling roughly 3.6% of the total BTC supply.

Bitcoin to Bottom at $46,000 — Old-school On-chain Model Shows

Popular crypto analyst Willy Woo recently tweeted that an older Bitcoin on-chain model, CVDD (Cumulative Value Days Destroyed), suggests the cryptocurrency is likely to bottom between $46k and $54k. Woo previously dismissed recent price recoveries above $70k as a bull trap and has predicted that the digital currency is likely to test the $60k support level in the near future.

Woo, a popular on-chain analyst, has maintained a bearish bias on Bitcoin’s short-term outlook for the past several months. He also sounded an alarm regarding the incoming Quantum Computing (QC) threat to the premier cryptocurrency and recommended resolving the issue on a priority basis.
The CVDD floor model is a Bitcoin analytical model developed by Woo himself. It projects a Bitcoin price bottom based on historical cycle lows and ongoing capital outflows from BTC, using a chart that overlays market price, realized price, and CVDD trends.

Woo tweeted:

“Old school onchain models suggest a BTC bottom between 46k-54k. Also hints at how much time we have to wait.

Orange line correlates to the capital stored in BTC and it has been leaving since November.

CVDD Floor Model has the advantage of climbing over time, 45.5k right now.”
The dynamic tool suggests that the ongoing Bitcoin capitulation phase is likely to have a floor near $45.5k, but the metric is designed to climb gradually. Woo predicts that the eventual bottom will be anywhere between the current CVDD level ($45.5k) and the realized price ($54k). BTC is currently valued at $66k around press time.

For the popular analyst, the question of BTC dropping below $60k is not a matter of “if” but “when”. He painted a further bleak picture of the future and stated that the model is based on the premise that the global risk foundation remains steady.

In a March 27 livestream, Hoskinson said the project grew out of what he described as a “shockingly low level of understanding” around zero-knowledge proofs and ZK cryptography. “So I wrote a 337 page book over the last few months,” he said. He described it as a non-technical manual, though one that still contains a significant amount of technical material, built around a seven-layer framework for understanding how ZK systems are designed from setup and languages down to proof systems, cryptography, and the verification environment.

That structure is central to the pitch. The Cardano founder said the framework is meant to help readers “understand all ZK systems from that lens,” then move upward into adjacent privacy-enhancing technologies and, eventually, Midnight itself. The repository’s README makes the same case in more formal language, describing the book as a guide to “the entire zero-knowledge stack from the ground up” and arguing that ZK systems do not remove trust so much as decompose it into smaller, testable pieces.

The Midnight angle is not incidental. Hoskinson explicitly presented the book as “a good way of introducing Midnight to people,” and said one chapter is dedicated to the network, even if the broader work is designed as a general introduction to
