Strategy has added more Bitcoin (BTC) to its balance sheet after spending over $200 million on a fresh purchase, continuing its long-running effort to build one of the largest corporate crypto treasuries in the world. On March 2, Strategy Inc revealed in a regulatory filing that it bought 3,015 BTC between February 23 and March 1 at an average price of $67,700 per coin, taking total holdings to 720,737 BTC. Funding the latest Bitcoin purchase The company spent about $204.1 million on the acquisition, using mainly proceeds from its at-the-market share sales and preferred stock offerings. During the same period, Strategy raised roughly $237.1 million, leaving part of the funds as a cash reserve. With this purchase, Strategy’s total Bitcoin acquisition cost has reached around $54.77 billion. Its average cost basis now stands at about $75,985 per BTC. He argues that AI will create deflationary pressure on prices by lowering production costs, prompting policymakers to respond by increasing the money supply. This expanded liquidity is expected to flow into an “absolutely rare” asset.

According to Burnett’s calculations, if the price of Bitcoin reaches $11 million, the network’s value will rise to approximately $230 trillion. Reminding us that global financial assets currently exceed $1,000 trillion, Burnett suggests that if assets grow at a compound annual rate of 7%, the total financial size could reach approximately $1,970 trillion in 2036. In this scenario, Bitcoin would represent approximately 12% of global financial assets.

According to Burnett, Bitcoin doesn’t need to replace all currencies or become universally used in daily transactions. $BTC’s role is to be a “long-term accumulation asset” in an era of expanding money supply and technological deflation.

JPMorgan warns oil could surge to $120 if Iran war disrupts Gulf supply


Strategists at JPMorgan estimate that Brent crude could reach as high as $120 per barrel if disruptions from an escalating Middle East conflict last more than three weeks, exhausting Gulf storage capacity and forcing output shut-ins that tighten global supply.

In a note led by commodities research head Natasha Kaneva, the JPMorgan team says prices will depend on the scale and duration of supply losses, the speed at which replacement barrels or strategic reserves can be mobilized, and whether shipping through key routes such as the Strait of Hormuz remains constrained by security risks and surging insurance costs.

Though the strait has not formally closed, shipping has slowed as insurance costs spike and safety concerns mount.

JPMorgan estimates that Gulf producers dependent on Hormuz, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Iraq, Kuwait, Iran, Qatar, and Oman, have about 343 million barrels of onshore storage, enough to sustain around 22 days of output if exports are stranded.

If disruptions exceed three weeks, producers may be forced to curb production, tightening global supply and pushing Brent into the $100–$120 range.

The bank also notes that past regime changes in medium-to-large oil-producing countries have resulted in average price increases of 76% from onset to peak.

Global oil markets reacted strongly after military strikes by the US and Israel against Iran intensified tensions across the Middle East.

Oil prices surged on Monday, with Brent crude rising above $80 during trading before settling near $77, while stock futures declined.

Energy companies like Exxon and Chevron saw gains, as higher oil prices tend to boost profits, alongside defense contractors such as Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman.

White hat helps recover $1.8M after Foom Cash exploit drains $2.3M

A rapid response by a white hat hacker helped a blockchain protocol recover most of the funds stolen in a $2.26 million exploit, highlighting the growing role of ethical hackers in Web3 incident response.

Foom Cash, a decentralized, anonymous lottery protocol based on zero-knowledge proofs, was exploited for $2.26 million of funds on Friday.

However, the intervention of an ethical hacker helped the protocol recover $1.84 million, or 81% of the stolen funds, Foom Cash announced on Monday.

Pseudonymous white hat hacker, Duha, has triggered and ”identified the vulnerability and moved to secure the funds on Base before malicious actors could strike, while @DecurityHQ handled the rescue operation on Ethereum,” wrote the protocol in a Monday X post.

Foom Cash awarded the white hat hacker a $320,000 bounty, while crypto security platform Decurity was awarded a $100,000 security fee.

”By honoring their bug bounty policy, @foomclub_ has proven that they take protocol security seriously and value the researchers helping them,” wrote white hat hacker Duha, in response to the incident.
