The report also highlights emerging trends:
• Tokenized bonds are showing early promise, with potential for lower borrowing costs and tighter spreads—but results are still preliminary.
• Euro stablecoins and tokenized money market funds (MMFs) could either strengthen liquidity during market stress or introduce new contagion channels, depending on how they are structured and regulated.
The ECB’s message is clear:
Tokenization isn’t the risk—uncontrolled tokenization is.
As finance moves on-chain, the real challenge will be balancing innovation with resilience. Europe wants to lead this shift—but on its own terms.

The move comes despite ongoing market volatility and heightened bearish sentiment, highlighting how institutional appetite for crypto exposure remains firm even as fear and uncertainty spread across the market.

BlackRock Ramps Up Bitcoin And Ethereum Buying
From April 6 to 10, BlackRock recorded a strong wave of inflows into its spot crypto ETFs, highlighting sustained institutional demand for digital assets. The recent inflows also signaled a shift in sentiment among investors, who had previously adopted a risk-off stance amid geopolitical tensions and macroeconomic conditions that fueled price declines in the crypto market.

In total, the investment company attracted about $780 million across its Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, a staggering figure that shows renewed interest in regulated crypto exposure. SoSoValue reports that the bulk of these inflows went into BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF, iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), which brought in roughly $612 million. Meanwhile, the firm’s Ethereum ETF, iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA), added approximately $168 million over the same period.

As new shares were issued, authorized participants stepped in to facilitate the process, requiring custodians to buy an equivalent amount of real BTC and ETH. Those assets are now being held by Coinbase Custody, the primary custodian for BlackRock’s crypto ETFs. To maintain full backing, the firm acquires Bitcoin and Ethereum through on the open market or over-the-counter (OTC) deals. BlackRock, for its part, manages the funds without using its own corporate capital.

Bitcoin Scholars Fund officially launched April 15, 2026, as a 501(c)(3) Scholarship Granting Organization operating under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, also known as Public Law 119-21, signed into law July 4, 2025.

CoW Protocol prices continue to be under pressure over the last 24 hours as the project grappled with fallout from a security incident on April 14. Crypto dropped by nearly 3% to trade at approximately $0.213. Yet that drop was while the global crypto market was on the rise, even as Bitcoin modestly gained.

The divergence illustrates a palpable change in sentiment on the protocol in the wake of the hack. The downturn was set in motion by a front-end attack that attacked the platform’s website. In the last statement release, it was reported that an attacker gained control over the cow.fi domain via DNS hijacking.

This lets the attacker then take users down the path to a malicious interface that had a close match to the original site to redirect them to a similar site. The device had been set up to deceive users into agreeing to approve malicious transactions or revealing sensitive wallet information. Only days after the problem was exposed, the squad put out a public alert.

Users were told to avoid interacting with the platform’s front-end. However, the protocol was also paused as a precautionary measure. The team assured that both the core smart contracts and backend systems were not compromised. Still, the attack carried a significant risk since it attacked the interface that users use to interact with the protocol.

The incident was flagged early by Blockaid, a firm that monitors decentralized applications for suspicious activity. Its detection system identified unusual behavior linked to the cow.fi domain. Shortly after, the protocol confirmed the issue and urged users to stay away until further notice. This quick response helped limit wider damage, even though the event still affected market confidence.

The price action at the end of last week is starting to generate optimistic views for the Bitcoin price, but a pattern that has repeated across every major Bitcoin market cycle shows that the leading cryptocurrency is still in a sell zone.

A Repeating 4-Year Cycle That Ends The Same Way
Technical analysis of Bitcoin’s price action on the weekly candlestick timeframe chart shows an interesting observation. The analysis was done by a crypto analyst called Tony Research, who looked at one of the most consistently observed structures in Bitcoin’s history: the four-year cycle.

The analysis looked at the following durations from bottom to bottom across three distinct cycles. Cycle 1 (2015 to 2018) ran for 1,431 days; Cycle 2 (2019 to 2022) covered 1,421 days; and the current Cycle 3 (2023 to 2026) is tracking at approximately 1,390 days.

The Gaussian Channel indicator on the weekly timeframe chart shows that each of these cycles has followed the same general structure. The structure involves a recovery from a bear market bottom, a bull run that carries the BTC price to new all-time highs, and then a final distribution phase before a major drawdown.

Bitcoin formed bull market tops in November 2013, December 2017, and November 2021, with each cycle spanning approximately four years from peak to peak. Consistent with this structure, the most recent cycle appears to have peaked on October 6, 2025, at just above $126,000.

Price action trading between $60,000 and $76,000 is, in Tony’s view, not for nothing but a reflection of indecision at a critical point in the cycle. The conclusion is that this range is the final stage before a deeper correction.
