According to Santiment data, XRP active addresses jumped 654.71%, rising from 47,180 to 356,070. The move marks a major increase in network participation. The network chart showed activity below 50,000 just one week earlier before climbing above 350,000.

Notably, the surge comes as XRP has staged a major recovery from below $1.

Crypto rally spills into dog and cat memecoins as smaller tokens double in a week


Crypto’s latest rally is spreading into the market’s more speculative corners, with dog and cat-themed memecoins posting some of the biggest gains as traders move further out on the risk curve.

Robinhood-based Cash Cat led the move Tuesday, jumping about 51% over 24 hours to $0.218 and more than 113% over the past week. The token has gained about 345% over 30 days, taking its market value to roughly $215 million.

Other cat-themed tokens have joined the chase. Thinking Cat has surged 131% over seven days, Purr is up 93%, Popcat has jumped 54% and cat in a dogs world, or MEW, has climbed 49%.

The same pattern is showing up among dog coins. Dog (Bitcoin) has nearly doubled over the past week, while dogwifhat has climbed 64%, Bonk 47% and Floki 40%.

Even the largest memecoins are participating, though with smaller gains. Dogecoin is up about 32% over the past seven days and Shiba Inu about 30%.

Memecoins are cryptocurrencies built largely around internet jokes or communities rather than a traditional business or cash flow. Their prices tend to react strongly when traders become more willing to take risk, making the smaller tokens a useful gauge of speculative appetite.

The latest moves suggest some of the gains that began in larger cryptocurrencies are now reaching tokens further down the market-cap rankings, where thinner liquidity can produce much larger percentage swings.

Cash Cat is a good example. About $80 million of the token traded over the past 24 hours against a market value of roughly $215 million — or unusually heavy turnover for a coin of its size.

That can work both ways, however. Smaller memecoins can rise much faster when buyers pile in, but the same lack of depth can magnify losses when traders head for the exits.

Las Vegas businessman convicted in $24 million 'AI supercomputer' crypto Ponzi schemeLas Vegas businessman Brent Kovar has been found guilty of running a crypto Ponzi scheme, defrauding at least 400 investors out of $24 million, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Nevada announced Monday.

Kovar was found guilty of 11 counts of wire fraud, two counts of mail fraud and two counts of money laundering following a nine-day trial. Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 30, when Kovar faces a statutory maximum penalty of up to 280 years in prison.

Kovar’s case first made the headlines in July 2021, when the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) charged Kovar and his mother, Joy Kovar, with fraudulently raising $12 million from at least 277 investors.

The pair lured investors into their Ponzi scheme, saying their crypto business, Profit Connect, invested in forex, stocks and other assets "to diversify its income stream from the company's main income source of blockchain mining,” the SEC said.

The Kovars touted a supercomputer with artificial intelligence (AI) features capable of generating 20% to 30% fixed returns per year, compounded monthly. Instead, the SEC alleged, they transferred "millions of dollars to Joy Kovar's personal bank account" and made "Ponzi-like payments to other investors," according to the charges.

“The victims in this case thought they were engaged in revolutionary technological advancement, but it was merely a deception crafted by the falsehoods and trickery of Mr. Kovar,” said Special Agent in Charge Christopher S. Delzotto for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Las Vegas Field Office.

From late 2017 to July 2021, Kovar operated Profit Connect out of Las Vegas, representing the company as profitable with hundreds of millions of dollars in cryptocurrency reserves and a 100% money-back guarantee. He used investor money to buy gifts for employees and purchase a house for himself.

The initial breach occurred on July 13, 2025, when the attacker manipulated Term Labs' governance mechanism to drain roughly $8.5 million in cryptocurrency from the protocol.
PeckShield identified the Tornado Cash deposits on July 14, noting that the transactions were split to avoid detection and to complicate tracking efforts. Tornado Cash is a popular mixing service that breaks the on-chain link between source and destination addresses, making it difficult for investigators to follow the money.
