IMF, JPMorgan, Central Banks Contribute to Global Tokenized Asset Compliance EffortGlobal Institutions Publish Tokenized Asset Compliance Blueprint
A group of central banks, international institutions, and financial firms contributed to a Global Layer One (GL1) white paper on programmable compliance for tokenized financial assets. The paper examines how compliance controls can be embedded into regulated digital-asset transactions.

Contributors to the paper include Banque de France; the International Monetary Fund (IMF); Kinexys by J.P. Morgan, the bank’s blockchain and digital-assets division; the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS); and Standard Chartered.

Additional input came from Bermuda, a privacy protocol for regulated digital assets, as well as the BIS Innovation Hub, the innovation arm of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS); Chainlink Labs, a blockchain infrastructure provider; GLEIF, the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation; and other industry participants.

“For regulated institutions, full public-chain transparency is often incompatible with commercial confidentiality and client privacy,” the announcement by Bermuda states. The company said its contribution to the GL1 paper focuses on privacy-preserving compliance tools that allow asset- and transaction-level policies to be enforced in private digital-asset activity. Bermuda noted:

“Every transaction can expose counterparties, amounts, and asset types. But the alternative, full opacity, can leave issuers and regulators with blunt enforcement tools.”

“When action is required, the only available lever may be to freeze an entire pool, affecting compliant funds and legitimate users alongside illicit activity,” the announcement adds.

As it stands, sentiment is weak, so investors are not fully back in profit-taking mode. Hence, the timing here is very peculiar.

Strategy sells… and buys too!
Between 15 and 21 June, Strategy sold 2.71 million MSTR shares through its at-the-market program. They raised $335.5 million in net proceeds. The company then used part of that capital to buy 520 BTC for $34.9 million, at an average price of $67,068 per Bitcoin.As of 21 June, the company held 847,363 BTC, bought for a total of $64.1 billion at an average cost of $75,651 per coin. Its dollar reserves also rose to $1.4 billion.

Is the market very fragile?
Don’t let Strategy fool you though because the market doesn’t look like it’s recovering just yet.

At the time of writing, Bitcoin’s adjusted SOPR was still struggling around the key level of 1. Going above 1 usually means investors are selling coins at a profit while a move below 1 means losses are still being realized.On the charts though, there seemed to be no confirmation.

Profit-taking from long-term holders has gone weaker too, so the market may even still be resetting

Cardano Founder Reveals SpaceX Discussion Details, Shares Bullish Crypto PredictionWhile short-term market weakness continues to worry investors, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson said that many traders are missing the bigger catch. Speaking in a recent podcast, Hoskinson urged the crypto community to stop focusing on daily price swings and instead pay attention to the massive long-term growth happening across the industry. Cardano, he noted, often benefits from a long-term focus over reacting to short-term market moves.

“The Long-Term We Win”
At the same time, he also shared new details about his conversations with SpaceX, revealing that discussions touched on Starlink and future communication technologies. Notably, Cardano’s community has also speculated on these advancements and their potential impacts.

Hoskinson made it clear that short-term price drops do not change his overall outlook on crypto, especially regarding Cardano development and adoption.

“Crypto is the opt out. Crypto is the exit. Crypto is the solution,” Hoskinson said.

According to him, market ups and downs are normal, but the broader trend remains firmly upward. He pointed out that the crypto industry already has around 550 million users worldwide and expects that number to grow to one billion by 2030. As a result, Cardano could see even greater adoption in the coming years.

Hoskinson also predicted that a good portion of global financial assets could eventually move on-chain, with Cardano potentially playing a significant role.

“There’s 550 million people in the cryptocurrency ecosystem, and there’s going to be a billion by 2030,” he said.

He further argued that stocks, bonds, and other traditional assets will increasingly migrate to blockchain networks over the next few years, making today’s market volatility look insignificant in hindsight. Major b

Bastian Aue, an operations team member at the Ethereum Foundation who goes by the pseudonym Aerugo, has stated that Maximal Extractable Value (MEV) could emerge as the next major front in the ongoing cypherpunk war. His comments, reported by Wu Blockchain, underscore a deepening ideological divide within the Ethereum ecosystem over the technology’s core purpose.

What Is MEV and Why Does It Matter?

Maximal Extractable Value refers to the profit that block proposers—typically validators or miners—can extract by reordering, including, or excluding transactions within a block. While MEV has become a lucrative mechanism in decentralized finance, it also raises serious concerns about fairness, censorship, and network neutrality. Aue’s remarks place this technical debate squarely within the philosophical framework that has guided Ethereum since its inception.

Aue emphasized that the Ethereum Foundation holds censorship resistance, privacy, and self-sovereignty as its core values. He explicitly stated that the foundation does not exist to maximize its appeal to short-term speculators or institutional investors. This positions the debate over MEV not merely as a technical or economic issue, but as a fundamental test of Ethereum’s original cypherpunk ethos.

The Ideological Divide

The cypherpunk movement, which emerged in the early 1990s, advocates for the use of cryptography and decentralized systems to protect individual privacy and resist centralized control. Ethereum was built on these principles, but the rise of MEV has introduced new tensions. Some developers and researchers argue that MEV extraction is an unavoidable feature of permissionless blockchains, while others see it as a form of rent-seeking that undermines the network’s

Re7 Labs Opens $223K USDC Compensation Pool for USR Exploit VictimsDeFi risk curator Re7 Labs said this morning that wallets affected by the March exploit of Resolv Labs' USR stablecoin can claim a share of a 223,000 $USDC compensation pool. The makeup payment closes one of the smaller curator-side liabilities tied to the incident.

The pool covers users whose positions in Re7's Re7 $USDC Base vault on Base and Re7 $USDC Core Mainnet vault on Ethereum were caught by the exploit, per the announcement from Re7 Labs. Eligibility was snapshotted at the moment Re7 delisted the affected USR markets. Affected wallets can connect to the Merkl app to view and claim their pro-rata share.

Resolv Labs Attack
The compensation traces to a March 23 attack on Resolv Labs in which an attacker compromised the project's AWS-hosted key management service and minted 80 million USR using under $200,000 of collateral. The attacker swapped the unbacked tokens through staked variants into $USDC and then Ether, walking away with roughly $23 million in ETH. USR depegged from $1 to a low of around $0.20, and CoinGecko data shows the token still trading well below par.

Re7's role
Re7 Labs curates lending vaults on Morpho Blue, Euler and other venues, setting collateral parameters and listing assets rather than issuing tokens of its own. Re7's flagship mRe7YIELD strategy had no USR exposure. Two of its smaller curated vaults on Morpho, Re7 $USDC Base and Re7 $USDC Core Mainnet, had listed USR as collateral and were drawn into the exploit. The curator currently shows $92.5 million in TVL across 14 vaults per DefiLlama.

The curator-accountability arc
Re7 is the latest of several Morpho curators to ring-fence a payout. Gauntlet and Resolv reached a far larger compensation agreement on June 4, opening more than 4.37 million $USDC of claims to affected Gauntle
