Exclusive: Bloomberg’s Mike McGlone Says Bitcoin Will Hit $10,000 Before It Sees $100,000 Again

Bitcoin has put investors through one of its most dramatic stretches in years. After trading near $120,000 in late 2025, the token has lost nearly half its value and now trades around $65,000. A brief bounce followed Trump’s announcement of a US-Iran peace deal, but contentious claims from both sides have kept uncertainty elevated. Whether the recovery holds or more downside follows is the question defining crypto markets right now.

Bloomberg Intelligence senior macro strategist Mike McGlone has an answer, and it is not what most Bitcoin holders want to hear.

Bitcoin Price: The $10,000 Call
In an exclusive interview with Coinpedia, McGlone said Bitcoin could be closer to $10,000 by year-end than where it currently trades.

“If the US stock market drops in 2026 for a typical midterm election year, I fully expect Bitcoin to be closer to $10,000 into year-end than where it is now,” McGlone told Coinpedia.

“All markets are the most linked now in history. Plunging Bitcoin and cryptos are leading indicators. It is a space of unlimited supply seeking a low-price cure, of which I expect will be much lower than current levels,” he added.

But why?

A US stock market decline in a midterm election year, combined with Bitcoin’s historically high correlation to equities, would drag prices toward that long-term average. The S&P 500 at 2.5 times GDP is a metric McGlone has repeatedly flagged as unsustainable.

Tether Is the Real Story
When asked which altcoin has caught his attention, McGlone bypassed every Layer 1 and DeFi protocol entirely. His answer was Tether.

“The most significant trend in cryptos has been Tether flippening everything. It flippened Ether a bit on June 11 and I expect the Tether trend to continue, flippening Ether this year and eventually Bitcoin, which might be near $10,000,” he said.

Ripple Shares How Institutions Can Seamlessly Add XRP to Their Treasury Account
Ripple has shown how institutions can bring XRP and its RLUSD stablecoin directly into their treasury operations through its Ripple Treasury platform. 

In an elaborate presentation, the company shared how businesses can activate digital asset accounts and add digital assets to their treasury workflows without leaving the platform.

During the presentation, Ripple explained that many customers want to benefit from digital assets, especially for instant cross-border payments and opportunities that remain available around the clock. 

However, according to the company, the first question many institutions ask is how they can begin using digital assets within their existing treasury systems.

Ripple said the process starts inside Ripple Treasury. Specifically, users can go to the Connectivity section and select Digital Assets, where they can view the available providers. 

Among those options is Ripple, which serves as the built-in route for customers looking to add digital assets directly through the platform.

After choosing Ripple and starting the setup process, users complete a one-time Know Your Customer (KYC) verification. The platform guides them through the required steps, allowing them to confirm their details, agree to the terms and conditions, and submit their application.

XRP May Not Retest the $0.90 Support if This Happens
XRP could start a new bullish trend as it approaches one of its most important technical levels in months after a sharp rebound from the $1.09 support zone. 

According to experienced analyst CasiTrades, this recent XRP development could invalidate the expectations of a deeper decline toward the $0.90 macro support area. The level below $1 has been a long-discussed target, but the strength of the latest recovery is beginning to challenge that outlook.
This week, XRP has increased by nearly 5%, building on the strong momentum from the previous. CasiTrades highlighted that what makes the current rally noteworthy is the strength of the reaction from the macro 0.786 Fibonacci retracement near $1.09.

XRP traded around that level earlier in the month after dropping to an intra-month low of $1.05. However, it has recovered considerably, bouncing 12.8% to its current price of $1.23.

The support zone around $1.05-$1.09 has repeatedly attracted buyers, but this latest rebound stands out because of its speed and momentum. XRP quickly formed a higher low before bouncing from a short-term ascending trendline visible on an accompanying chart.
Momentum indicators are also showing improvement. The relative strength index (RSI) has pushed above 80 on the 4-hour timeframe, reflecting the strongest buying pressure seen since April.

CasiTrades noted that the recovery from $1.09 has introduced a new scenario in which XRP may already have bottomed and could start a new uptrend. However, that alone does not confirm the structural shift or invalidate the larger downtrend towards $0.90 yet.

f you're only looking at the dollar price of your portfolio, you may be missing part of the picture, which is significantly shaped by money supply growth.

To the casual observer, the markets look like business as usual. While bitcoin has nearly halved to $66,000 since its $126,000 peak in October of last year, the decline could be dismissed as just another brutal, quadrennial crypto bear market. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 continues to hover near record highs.

But beneath the surface, a more interesting signal emerges when both prices are adjusted for the U.S. M2 money supply. M2 is the Federal Reserve's estimate of liquid assets, including cash on hand, money deposited in checking and savings accounts, and other short-term saving vehicles such as money market funds and certificates of deposit.
