Shiba Inu Price Analysis: Here’s What Next as Range-Bound SHIB Registers Golden Cross
Shiba Inu remains stuck within a range on higher timeframes, but has made a golden crossover on the shorter timeframes. What could happen next?

Shiba Inu (SHIB) trades at $0.000005826, down slightly over the past 24 hours. Its price continues to consolidate while larger-cap coins recover considerably, a trend that saw it lose its place as the second-largest meme coin by market cap to MemeCore (M).

Market users are exercising caution amid the price weakness, as evidenced by a 16% decline in trading volume over the past 24 hours. Shiba Inu’s open interest also took a hit, dropping 8% in the same timeframe to 9.37 trillion SHIB ($56.24 million). This suggests that both spot and derivative participants are looking elsewhere. 

However, Shiba Inu recently printed a golden cross on the 30-minute timeframe, an optimistic sign despite the negative trend. For the uninitiated, this cross happens when the 50-period moving average pushes above the 200-period moving average, signaling that buying momentum is increasing.

The golden crossover occurred on Tuesday, signaling a shift in momentum. At the crossing, SHIB printed its largest green candle of the day on the 30-minute timeframe, rising 1.35%.
Currently, this crossover still holds, even though SHIB has consolidated lower from the intraday high of $0.00000603. This trend could see the meme coin rebound considerably when momentum returns and if the broader market conditions remain favorable.

However, it is worth noting that some analysts view a golden cross as a passive indicator that reflects what has already happened in the market. The crossover on lower timeframes is also tricky, as a death cross can also easily form.

Over the past 24 hours, edgeX has climbed 18%, marking a standout performance in an otherwise subdued market. The move reflects more than short-term speculation. It points to a shift in underlying market structure.

The rally appears driven by a mix of strengthening fundamentals and sustained bullish pressure. Even so, one variable continues to shape the near-term outlook.

What is driving the edgeX rally?

A major driver behind the latest move is the edgeX [$EDGE] team’s continued supply reduction strategy.

As the price advanced, the circulating supply tightened. The team deployed $838,000 in buybacks during this rally.

Since initiating the program in April, total buybacks have reached $13 million, steadily removing tokens from the open market.

This contraction in supply has coincided with rising demand. Over the same period, 610 new wallets entered the market.

While individual purchase sizes remain unclear, the influx of new holders signals expanding participation. Total holders stood at 20,600, as of press time.

This type of growth often supports trend continuation, as broader distribution can strengthen price stability and upside potential.

Bullish flag structure signals continuation

From a technical standpoint, $EDGE continues to trade within a bullish flag pattern, a formation often linked to trend continuation.

The structure followed a strong upward move, with price consolidating within descending resistance and stable support.

Price has now approached the upper boundary of this pattern. A confirmed breakout could open the path toward the recent local high of $1.19, recorded on the 3rd of April.

Further extension remains possible if momentum holds.

Arthur says he is trying to find a portfolio setup that can beat hydrocarbons, food, and fuel prices in the best case, and in the worst case still do better than most major assets.

CFTC probes oil futures trades tied to Trump's moves in Iran: Report

The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission is reportedly investigating suspicious oil trades that were placed ahead of certain announcements made by the Trump administration relating to the Iran war.

According to a Bloomberg report on Wednesday, the CFTC’s probe focuses on trading activity on CME Group’s NYMEX and the Intercontinental Exchange’s futures platforms.

The regulator is also requesting “Tag 50” identity data from exchanges to assist with the investigation. Tag 50 data is widely used for auditing and regulatory compliance checks.

The investigation into the futures trading platforms comes in parallel with the rising scrutiny of insider trading in prediction markets.

Bloomberg said the CFTC is reviewing at least two instances over a two-week period in which oil trading volumes surged shortly before the Trump administration made announcements related to the Iran war.

The first of those occurred on March 23, when billions of dollars in futures traded about 15 minutes before US President Donald Trump postponed plans to strike Iranian energy infrastructure.

The second instance occurred around two weeks later, on April 7, when Trump announced a two-week ceasefire on Iran, Bloomberg said.

The trading spikes contributed to falling oil prices and rising equity prices.

“There’s enormous appetite to pursue cases like this,” said Brian Young, a partner at law firm Jones Day who previously served as director of the CFTC’s enforcement division.
