Neo 4 RISC-V VM solution passes full MainNet state validation

A NeoVM-compatible RISC-V virtual machine solution for Neo 4 has passed block-by-block state root verification against the full Neo MainNet dataset, confirming the design has moved beyond the conceptual stage. Neo co-founder and core developer Erik Zhang shared the milestone, describing the result as validation that the approach produces identical state transitions to the existing system.

The achievement follows Zhang’s draft Neo 4 roadmap published in Sept. 2025, which proposed NeoVM 2 as a next-generation virtual machine with RISC-V compatibility, fine-grained gas metering, and improved cost efficiency. At the time, Zhang stated that adoption of RISC-V would allow Neo to onboard existing developer infrastructure, improve efficiency, and enhance support for zero-knowledge proofs.

Zcash Price Falls 4% Despite Cypherpunks Accumulating ZEC

On April 15, one of the leading privacy coins, Zcash ($ZEC), plunged by around 4% as the overbought weekly rally cooled down.

According to CoinMarketCap, the $ZEC price is currently trading at around $342.29, with a drop of around 4.52%. At present, the privacy coin is holding a market capitalization of around $5.69 billion. A similar drop was also witnessed in the $ZEC price, where it plunged to $454.68 million.

Zcash ($ZEC) Price Faces Slight Drop Amid Consolidation Pattern

In the last 7 days, the $ZEC has soared by around 6.81%. Today’s drop is a sign that the cryptocurrency is facing a small correction before further upward momentum.

Zcash is creating pressure as the breakout zone comes closer. The token is consolidating after a sharp recovery, and the current price is holding above major support while gradually heading towards resistance levels.

The current price chart is forming higher lows. This is one of the biggest signs of accumulation from buyers. If the price manages to for a clean breakout with high trading volume, it could expand quickly into a strong upward momentum. At present, there are major target points at $350, $380, and $420.

The price movement is a result of the recent consolidation phase, where the cryptocurrency has repeatedly traded between the tight range of $345 and $362. The consolidation pattern is currently forming a consolidation pattern on the daily chart after breaking out from a multi-month downtrend.

The current price movement is like a flag formation where the token is taking a break from recent highs around the $360 to identify the next direction. This kind of price movement comes after a rally in the cryptocurrency. This might help it to go for another high if trading volume stays high.

The quantum computing threat has some of Bitcoin's most vocal developers landing in wildly different places.

Blockstream's CEO, Adam Back, told Paris Blockchain Week attendees on Wednesday that Bitcoin developers should start building optional quantum-resistant upgrades now, even though current quantum computers remain "essentially lab experiments" with progress that has been "incremental" over the 25 years he has tracked the field.

"Preparation is key. Making changes in a controlled way is far safer than reacting in a crisis," the Blockstream CEO said.

For most of the month, maximum government spending was capped at one-twelfth above the 2025 budget and only in the final two days of the month could spending be increased by more after the 2026 budget was passed by the Knesset.Therefore March spending totaled NIS 56.7 billion while March revenues were NIS 55.1 billion. Since the start of the year spending has amounted to NIS 147 billion, up 10% from the corresponding period last year. There was exceptional revenue of NIS 8.7 billion, probably from tax paid on the Wiz-Google deal, which was sufficient to narrow the deficit by 0.5% from the previous month. The cumulative increase in ministry spending is particularly noticeable in defense spending, which rose 19% from the same period last year (January-March), while economic ministries spent almost 8% less.The Accountant General stressed that the increase in tax revenues is attributed to one-time revenues from taxation from the sale of companies. On the other hand, an increase in tax refunds, along with tax relief following the war, led to a fall in revenues. In March, all tax payments were postponed to the end of the month following the outbreak of the war, and the economy operated on a restricted basis. There was also a loss of NIS 700 million in import revenues.Chief Economist raised revenue forecastsAs part of the state budget update during the war, the Chief Economist at the Ministry of Finance raised the revenue forecast based on the higher tax revenues in the previous month.
