Benchmark Equity Research reiterated its "buy" rating and $27 price target on Bitdeer Technologies, citing the stock's re-rating potential as a bitcoin miner transitioning into Al/HPC infrastructure.

Bitdeer shares (BTDR) surged nearly 21% Wednesday following Hut 8's (HUT) announcement of a massive 352 MW Al data center deal at Beacon Point, highlighting investor enthusiasm for hybrid bitcoin mining/Al firms, the analysts led by Mark Palmer said in a note on Thursday.

With that in mind, BTDR trades at a "comparatively inexpensive" 4.5x forward EV/revenue despite possessing similar power access, vertical integration, and proprietary chip development capabilities.

Is there a divergence playing out in the current market correction?

From a technical angle, the possibility of Bitcoin’s [BTC] 1.7% correction on the 7th of May acting as another short-term reset looks likely.

BTC has formed four higher lows since the end of March, while each pullback has still been followed by higher highs, with the most recent high reaching $82k on the 6th of May. 

In this context, the possibility of BTC resetting before attempting another higher high above $85k makes sense. During prior corrections, Bitcoin ETFs also turned negative, and recent flows appear to be following a similar pattern.

Bitcoin retreats below $80,000, liquidating $300 million in futures bets





Bitcoin tumbled back below $80,000 late Thursday after the U.S. launched fresh airstrikes in Iran, causing brent crude oil to briefly top $100 per barrel before giving back a portion of gains during Asia and European hours.

The crypto market was already slightly jittery after Strategy chairman Michael Saylor said that the company would consider selling bitcoin to cover dividend payments from its STRC, a u-turn from its previous "never sell" strategy.

Ether (ETH) is trading at $2,280 having lost 0.2% since midnight UTC and around 2% over the past 24 hours, with other altcoins like monero (XMR) and dash (DASH) losing between 4% and 5%.

The broader crypto recovery remains intact with bitcoin having rallied from $65,000 in late March, although it's worth noting that a drop below $75,000 would negate the recent string of higher lows and would signal a reversion to the pervious trading range.
