Bitcoin oscillates around $80,000 as it fights to extend rally

The market is trapped in a pronounced tug-of-war between bullish and bearish positioning in the short term, one analyst said.

itcoin briefly dipped under the key $80,000 level, but reclaimed it shortly after, once again trading in a tight range. Bitcoin ETFs reverting to outflows and uncertainty about Iran continue to put pressure on risk assets.

Dean Chen, a Bitunix analyst, told Sherwood News that according to liquidation heat maps, significant liquidity is concentrated around the $78,000 zone, meaning a breakdown below this area could trigger further liquidation pressure.

At the same time, he said, dense short liquidity remains stacked between $82,000 and $83,000, highlighting that the market is still trapped in a pronounced tug-of-war between bullish and bearish positioning in the short term.

BTC/USD Forecast: Bitcoin Pulls Back from 200-Day Moving Average

Bitcoin was slightly weaker early in trading on Thursday, but that wasn't unexpected.

On Wednesday, Bitcoin broke through the 200-day moving average, forming a shooting star pattern.

While this is a negative candlestick pattern, I don't plan to short Bitcoin because, frankly, the current situation is such that traders are pushing the price higher, regardless of interest rates, war, or any other factors that could theoretically negatively impact Bitcoin.

If Bitcoin breaks the 200-day moving average and holds above it, it would be a clear bullish signal. This could open the way to $84,000. This area has previously acted as both support and resistance, and I now see it as a good target for growth.

 A Bitcoin correction is not out of the question thanks to the release of nonfarm payrolls data on Friday. The continued influx of institutional investors into ETFs is attractive enough in itself. However, I also acknowledge that Bitcoin's previous decline was excessive, and a rebound is virtually inevitable.

Ultimately, I believe the Bitcoin market will eventually break out of its uptrend; patience is the key. Position management is crucial, and of course, we must closely monitor whether interest rates rise again. While the Bitcoin market is somewhat detached from interest rate fluctuations, this could change if the bond market experiences a sudden and sharp decline. I'm bullish on Bitcoin, but I'm looking to buy on dips.
