Re drops LayerZero and goes all-in on Chainlink CCIP for cross-chain transfersRe, the onchain reinsurance protocol with more than $475 million in total value locked, is migrating from LayerZero to Chainlink CCIP as its exclusive cross-chain infrastructure following an internal review of bridging solutions, according to a Friday statement.

The switch covers reUSD, the protocol’s yield-bearing deposit token with a market cap above $160 million, and will govern how that asset travels across every chain it touches.

The team said that it selected CCIP for its security-first design, including decentralized oracle networks, 16 independent validator nodes, built-in rate-limit protections, and SOC 2 Type 2 compliance.

CCIP enables reUSD transfers through a lock-and-burn mechanism on the source chain and mint-and-release on the destination chain, validated through Chainlink’s decentralized infrastructure.

“Chainlink has been a foundational technology provider powering Re from the beginning,” Cliff White, Vice President of Engineering for Re, said. “It is an obvious choice to upgrade to Chainlink and secure the expansion of reUSD across chains.”

Re stated that its infrastructure decisions prioritize security, auditability, and institutional-grade resilience over speed of deployment, particularly for cross-chain operations involving real-world financial exposure.

“We’re excited to support Re as it upgrades to Chainlink CCIP as its exclusive cross-chain infrastructure to expand reUSD across chains. This highlights a broader industry shift where leading protocols adopt Chainlink exclusively to provide the uncompromising security necessary to scale stablecoins across the multi-chain ecosystem,” Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer at Chainlink Labs, stated.

Crypto Giant Coinbase In The Red: Q1 Losses Mount 
On Thursday, crypto exchange Coinbase (COIN) disclosed its first-quarter (Q1) results, which had impact on its stock valuation. COIN shares ended the session down around 5% at $192 per share following the company’s earnings report. 

This marked the second consecutive quarterly loss for the exchange, although the quarter itself was characterized by extreme conditions, including major volatility spikes and a 50% decline in Bitcoin’s (BTC) price from its all-time highs

For the quarter, Coinbase posted a net loss of $394.1 million, or $1.49 per share. This compared with a profit of $65.6 million, or $0.24 per share, in the year-ago period. 

The company also reported weakness in areas tied to its trading ecosystem. Revenue from the subscription and services unit—which includes businesses outside of trading—fell 13.5% to $583.5 million in the first quarter. 

Overall earnings before certain adjustments were made, as measured by adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA), dropped to $303.3 million, down from $929.9 million a year earlier.

Revolut users report Bitcoin price glitch showing 2 cents before recovery

Imagine checking your portfolio and seeing Bitcoin priced at two cents. Not two thousand. Not two hundred. Two pennies. That’s what some Revolut users say they experienced on Friday, in what appears to be one of the more spectacular display glitches in recent crypto app history.

The price snapped back to normal levels almost immediately, and no major exchange tracked by CoinGecko or CoinMarketCap showed any corresponding anomaly. Bitcoin was trading just above $79,000 during Asian afternoon hours on Friday. The incident appeared entirely isolated to Revolut’s platform.

What actually happened

Revolut’s official Bitcoin page showed BTC briefly marked around £29,414 on its one-day chart before returning near £58,600. That alone would have been a jarring drop. But social media posts from users painted an even wilder picture, with some claiming they saw prices as low as $0.02.

CoinDesk reported it could not independently verify those near-zero prints or confirm whether any trades were actually executed at those levels. Revolut had not responded to CoinDesk’s request for comment by the time that report was published.

Some users on X claimed buy orders executed during the disruption. Those reports also remain unconfirmed. If trades were indeed filled at those levels, Revolut would face the unenviable task of determining whether the prints reflected legitimate liquidity, stale quotes, a routing issue, or a straight-up pricing error on the platform’s side.

Here’s the thing. The day before the incident, Bitcoin was trading at around $81,022. So even the “less extreme” dip to £29,414 visible on Revolut’s chart represented a massive disconnect from reality. The $0.02 figure, if accurate, would be the kind of number that makes risk managers lose sleep for weeks.

Bitcoin holders are currently sitting on the highest unrealized profit levels since mid 2025, CryptoQuant’s analysis shows. The move may put a shadow on further bullish aspirations, as a section of analysts had already been predicting that this was a bull trap. As Bitcoin continues to enjoy its relatively long stint above the $80k price level, there are growing indicators that the cryptocurrency could face selling pressure once again.
Based on the graph, the premier cryptocurrency’s unrealized profit has risen sharply over the last 30 days. So much so that it mirrors the situation in June 2025, when the cryptocurrency was in the middle of a major bull market. The way it happened was that the cryptocurrency dumped hard in the last quarter of 2025 and the first quarter of 2026, going as low as $60k in the process.
The major dip allowed smart buyers to accumulate the digital asset at reasonable prices, and it is now up more than 35% from the local bottom around $60k. Unrealized profits are the difference between the current market price and the average acquisition cost of coins. When profits start to diverge significantly from the latest price levels, it creates an incentive to sell in the short term and buy again once the price dips again. The situation often creates a sell-off risk, CryptoQuant warns.

Historically, short-term holders have often capitulated, and profits have reached +35% levels, as we are seeing right now. Local tops, like the recent activity, have often been followed by corrective dips.

The daily structure tells a cautious story. Above that sits a layered Fair Value Gap cluster between $105 and $125, with the 0.618 Fib at $104.98 and 0.705 at $110.25 marking the key recovery targets. The MACD on the daily is flat but curling, signal line and histogram both compressing near zero, suggesting the market is coiling before a directional move.
