Crypto pundit BankXRP has highlighted that Ripple’s recent investment is strategic and boosts XRP’s utility as a cross-border payment asset. This comes as Ripple continues to expand its operations, with moves to further integrate XRP in its operations.

How Ripple’s Move Is Strategic For XRP
In an X post, BankXRP noted that Ripple’s backing of the cross-chain router Squid is strategic rather than random, as Squid supports the XRP Ledger as an integrated chain alongside Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin, Stellar, and Cosmos. He added that the platform supports native-to-native swaps across over 1,000 apps and DeFi services.

As such, the pundit declared that Ripple just made the XRP Ledger accessible to the entire crypto ecosystem, thanks to its investment. Crypto commentator Xaif had first drawn attention to the investment, revealing that the crypto firm had backed the $6 million funding round for Squid. The cross-chain router is said to be live across more than 100 networks, with $6 billion in routed volume.

In line with this, Xaif declared that Ripple isn’t just building on the XRP Ledger but is also funding the infrastructure that connects all chains. Notably, at the Consensus Conference, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse highlighted that the crypto space will continue to comprise several networks, indicating that the goal was to make their operations available across these networks in addition to the XRPL.

Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin is natively issued on the Ethereum network alongside XRPL. Ripple has also partnered with Wormhole to expand the stablecoin to Ethereum layer-2 networks such as Base, Optimism, and Unichain. Meanwhile, Ripple’s custody services expand beyond the XRP Ledger as it provides custody services for Ethereum and Solana, along with staking services.

Crypto sentiment platform Santiment said in a report on Friday that sharp outflows from BTC ETFs indicate retail capitulation, which has “historically correlated with conditions favorable for patient accumulation” for long-term holders rather than panic. 



CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost said in a post on X that BTC’s apparent demand has dropped to about -147,000 BTC, the most bearish since December 2025. That suggests a sustainable rally would be difficult without the support of genuine spot demand. However, the analyst added that the current environment creates “interesting opportunities for long-term investors capable of remaining patient.”

Strategy taps cash reserve to retire $1.5 billion in convertible debt

Strategy (MSTR), the world’s largest corporate holder of bitcoin , repurchased $1.5 billion of its 0% convertible senior notes due 2029 last week for $1.38 billion, opting to reduce debt rather than add to its bitcoin treasury, according to a filing released Tuesday.

The company funded the repurchase using cash reserves, bringing those reserves down to about $871 million following the debt repurchase and related capital transactions.

Executive Chairman Michael Saylor referenced the move on Sunday in a post on X, writing: “This week we bought bonds, not bitcoin. The ₿itVac is charging.”

The repurchase marks a shift from the company’s usual bitcoin accumulation strategy as it looks to restructure liabilities tied to its bitcoin treasury model.

Upon settlement, the purchase reduced the company’s outstanding debt obligations to $6.7 billion from $8.2 billion.

Strategy holds 843,738 BTC acquired at an average price of $75,700 per coin, representing a total purchase cost of approximately $63.9 billion.

MSTR shares rose 1.9% in pre-market trading alongside bitcoin's modest rise back to $77,000 over the weekend.

The suit claims the coins tied to these addresses constitute abandoned property discovered by the plaintiffs and reported to the New York Police Department, with a claim under New York Lost Property Law.

According to Cointelegraph, the filing argues that the wallets contain Bitcoin belonging to a spectrum of historic holders, including early miners and addresses attributed to the Bitcoin creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, along with other lost or unidentified entities. The action foregrounds long-standing questions about how inactive Bitcoin should be treated under property regimes and what ownership means when private keys are not accessible.

Industry observers note that even a court’s recognition of ownership would face fundamental, real-world constraints: the Bitcoin network has no mechanism to reallocate funds without the private keys that authorize transactions. The case underscores a core tension between legal theories of property and the operational realities of a distributed ledger.

“The network has no mechanism to reassign funds without a private key,” said Noveleader, lead research analyst at Castle Labs. “The one narrow exception would be if any of these coins are moved to a regulated custodian or exchange, at which point a court could compel that intermediary to act.”

The research perspective added that many of the coins cited in the suit may belong to deceased holders, lost keys, or long-term holders who have not transacted—further complicating claims of legal abandonment.
