Crypto News Today: Trump Jr. Declares Cryptocurrency a New Weapon of American Economic Hegemony.

Donald Trump Jr. made a surprise appearance at the Ondo Summit in New York on Thursday, sharing his firm belief in the future of cryptocurrencies and saying that cryptocurrencies could play a key role in securing the United States’ economic dominance.  “I think this could be the future of American hegemony in terms of our economic position and economic power,” he said, according to CoinDesk.

We really have to create a framework for [cryptocurrency] (which I believe is the future of finance) to work, for people to understand what it is, but not overregulate it by people who don’t know what they’re talking about, or you lose everything it represents,” Trump Jr. added.

The summit was announced by World Liberty Financial (WLF), a cryptocurrency project backed by the Trump family, which recently invested in Ondo Finance’s native cryptocurrency. The move shows the Trump family’s commitment to expanding its influence in the cryptocurrency space.

In addition, WLF recently invested in various cryptocurrencies, including Ethereum, Bitcoin, and others, and purchased approximately $470,000 worth of ONDO tokens. As part of a broader strategy, the company is preparing to launch the “Ondo Chain,” a layer blockchain designed specifically for tokenized assets.

WLF co-founder Chase Herro also shared exciting developments, including plans to launch a “strategic reserve” of crypto assets. The reserve will provide further liquidity and support to the crypto ecosystem, providing investors with more diverse opportunities in a growing market.

The focus on cryptocurrencies is consistent with TMTG  The move coincides with the company’s plans to launch a Bitcoin-backed ETF, called the Truth.Fi Bitcoin Plus ETF, demonstrating their interest in both traditional and digital asset investments.
