1. What Is zkPass?
zkPass is a privacy-preserving data oracle and infrastructure protocol based on Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKP) and Multi-Party Computation (MPC). Its core purpose is to transform private Web2 data into verifiable, composable and interoperable cryptographic proofs without exposing the original content, thereby providing a foundation of trustworthy data for Web3, AI, financial services, and digital identity use cases. zkPass offers a complete suite of tools and applications for users, developers, and enterprises so that real-world data such as identity attributes, financial records, social behavior, educational and professional history, and digital asset activity, can participate in both on-chain and off-chain workflows as “verifiable facts".
2. How Does zkPass Work?
The core technology of zkPass is zkTLS (Zero-Knowledge Transport Layer Security), which innovatively combines three-party TLS, hybrid zero-knowledge cryptography, MPC and local proof generation mechanisms. Through zkTLS, zkPass can securely extract data from any standard HTTPS website without requiring OAuth authorization, API access keys, or data custody, and generate zero-knowledge proofs locally on the user’s device.
3. Who Founded zkPass?
zkPass was co-founded by Joshua Peng and Francis Berwa. The founding team has longstanding collaborative and entrepreneurial experience in blockchain and digital asset technology, with expertise spanning core protocol development, product deployment, ecosystem growth and capital operations. Combining engineering and investment perspectives, the team is committed to building scalable and sustainable privacy computing and verifiable data infrastructure, accelerating both the technological application and ecosystem adoption of zkPass across the world.
4. ZKP Tokenomics
Token Name: ZKP Standard: ERC-20 Total Supply: 1,000,000,000 ZKP ZKP is the native functional token of the zkPass ecosystem, used for protocol operation, settlement and governance.
Token Distribution & Vesting:
Community (48.5%): 12.5% unlocked at TGE; 6% released over the first 3 months; the remaining 30% linearly released over 5 years.
Early Investors (22.5%): 12-month lockup, followed by 18-month linear release.
Core Contributors (14%): 24-month lockup, followed by 24-month linear release.
DAO Treasury (10%): Linear release over 5 years.
Liquidity (5%): Fully unlocked at TGE.
5. Timeline of Key Milestones
2022: zkPass was officially founded and began research and development on the zkTLS architecture.
July 2023: zkPass went live on testnet.
August 2023: Seed round financing was successfully completed ($2.5 million raised).
October 2024: Series A financing was completed ($12.5 million raised), with a valuation of $100 million.
April 2025: zkPass nodes completed over 4 million verification tasks during the LayerEdge PoH event.
October 2025: Over 10 million zero-knowledge proofs were generated, with 300+ verification templates released and tokenomics publicly announced.
December 2025: The ZKP token held its Token Generation Event (TGE).
