1. What Is Maple Finance?Maple is a digital asset lending platform that empowers the digital asset economy through secure and innovative loan solutions. Founded in 2019, Maple is led by a team of former bankers and credit investment professionals aiming to improve traditional capital markets.
2. How Does Maple Finance Work?
Maple's yield is derived from fixed-rate, over-collateralized loans provided to institutional borrowers. These short-term loans allow Maple to offer users consistent high yields and short-term liquidity. Lenders deposit funds into pools and earn interest denominated in the pool's liquid assets. This interest is determined by loan terms set by Maple's internal credit underwriting and risk management departments. Maple's digital asset lending platform captures yields from institutional secured loans.
Maple Blue Chip Secured Pool: Only accepts BTC and ETH collateral and is held by qualified institutional custodians to provide security and protection.
Maple High Yield Secured: Achieves higher yields by underwriting loans backed by specific digital assets and reinvesting collateral into staking and/or secured lending opportunities.
3. Who Founded Maple Finance?
The two founders, Joe Flanagan and Sidney Powell, have years of experience in financial management consulting.

4. Maple Finance Tokenomics
According to the MIP-010 proposal, Maple Finance minted approximately 1.15 billion SYRUP tokens, with the specific allocation as follows:
1 billion SYRUP tokens minted (1 MPL = 100 SYRUP).
100 million additional tokens (an extra 10% from the inflation plan).
As of October 1, 2024, the inflation plan added an additional 54.9 million tokens.
Based on the planned inflation and issuance schedule, the total supply of SYRUP tokens is expected to reach 1,228,740,800 by September 2026.
5. Timeline of Key Milestones
November 2024: Maple Finance launched the SYRUP token.
November 2023: Maple Finance officially launched on the Base network, marking its third blockchain platform after Ethereum and Solana.
May 2021: Maple Finance went live on the Ethereum mainnet.
