On August 22nd, it was reported that the city of Cheongju in South Korea has requested 7 cryptocurrency exchanges, including Upbit and Bithumb, to provide the details of cryptocurrency holdings of 8,520 users who owe more than 1 million Korean won in local taxes. The city plans to confiscate and collect cryptocurrency from the tax evaders.
