David Schwartz is one of the creators of XRP Ledger and also a Chief Technology Officer at Ripple Labs. He supports the latest upgrade of XRPL by shifting a major XRPL hub to version 3.2.0. Schwartz revealed that the shift occurred during a maintenance period of less than ten minutes.
In discussing this, Schwartz pointed out that it was part of normal maintenance and that the hub had worked well before this upgrade. This demonstrates the ongoing commitment to the latest XRP Ledger software version. Which validators and node operators once it is implemented across the network.
This upgrade comes on the heels of the unveiling of version 3.2.0 of the XRP Ledger and the renaming of its core software to “xrpld” from “rippled.” As the developers noted, it reflects the distinct nature of the ledger from Ripple while avoiding any potential confusion about the company’s business operations. The update also includes enhancements to memory optimization, which may decrease the memory used by servers by up to forty percent.
Other than the branding process, the latest 3.2.0 version of XRP Ledger comes with various infrastructure improvements that are aimed at increasing efficiency and enhancing the reliability of the system. This version features the newly introduced fixCleanup3_2_0 amendment that helps in offering better protection measures to single asset vaults, lending protocol, permissioned decentralized exchange (DEX), multi-purpose tokens, and permissioned domains. The update includes new invariant checks that aid in maintaining ledger integrity and reliability.
The new update adds more functionality for developers with new features. This includes easier access to protocol information and server configurations. Developers believe that these new changes may help improve various functions. Such as wallet integration, blockchain explorers, APIs, and other automated processes taking place within the ecosystem.
At the same time, the XRP Ledger Foundation is still working on governance for its network by updating the validators and making changes to the network infrastructure. Some changes in the Unique Node List have included the addition of Gen3Labs. And the withdrawal of the University of São Paulo. The market’s current attention is on the impact of recent updates in version 3.2.0 on the XRP Ledger network ecosystem.
