On June 3, 'New Stock Guru' Serenity compared two semiconductor companies from the European and American markets. Nasdaq-listed POET has a market capitalization of approximately $2.4 billion and focuses on packaging Sivers lasers, currently holding only a $50 million pre-production contract with warrants attached. In contrast, European-listed X-FAB (XFAB) has a market capitalization of just $1.7 billion but possesses core assets that far exceed its valuation. It is one of the few foundries globally that has received funding from both the EU CHIPS Act and the U.S. CHIPS Act for SiC/GaN/MEMS/silicon photonics. Its current valuation is even below the reset price-to-book ratio. Serenity further highlighted XFAB's differentiated advantages: Nvidia and Nokia are directly assessing its pre-commercial silicon photonics production line, which is expected to ramp up production between 2027 and 2028; as a foundry, the company is leading the high-scale expansion of the European photonics supply chain, collaborating closely with key European photonics institutions such as IMEC, CEA-Leti, Ligentec, and Smart Photonics; its clients include Nexperia, Power Integrations, and Lite-On. Serenity specifically cited the U.S. Department of Commerce's official characterization—'XFAB is the only high-capacity silicon carbide foundry in the U.S.'—to emphasize its rare strategic value amid trade barriers and the trend of supply chain localization.
