Over 700 guests of Huobi Global were treated to an evening of drinks, networking and insights from Huobi’s top executives at the company’s Token 2049 pre-opening party, Huobi with Friends: A Fresh Vision for 2022 and Beyond. Held on September 27 just before the official kick-off of Token 2049, the event featured speeches from Huobi’s senior leadership, as well as a raffle where a lucky winner scored a much-coveted ticket to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Huobi’s co-founder Du Jun and CEO Roy Zhu made a rare appearance at the event, which also featured other speakers including head of token listings Edward Chen, Senior Research Analyst Evans Huangfu, Fiat Global Expansion Director Siqi Zhu, and Regional Sales Director Bing Hu.

Du Jun opened by describing the exciting potential that Singapore, with its forward-looking policies and regulators, has to offer the global cryptocurrency industry. Addressing guests in the packed ballroom, he shared how the current environment reminded him of his time co-founding Huobi nearly a decade ago.

Since then, the industry has evolved and changed tremendously, with today’s analysts and observers now focusing their attention on the entry of institutional investors and the shift from Web2 to Web3. Du shared his belief that Web3 will also reshape business needs, bringing new opportunities to society through the better integration of data and ideas.

Huobi CEO Roy Zhu elaborated on the opportunities to be found in today’s bear market, stressing the importance of positioning oneself to capture opportunities as market trends reverse course and start to change for the better. He also discussed Huobi’s growing emphasis on Web3, and how the exchange can act as a safe and secure portal for everyday users migrating from Web2 to Web3.

Many friends and partners gathered at Huobi Global’s pre-opening Token 2049 party

Citing examples of Web3 projects taken on by Huobi’s investment and incubation arms, such as innovative Layer1 blockchains, NFTs, and social tokens, Zhu said the exchange may look to introduce even more functions that link Web3 assets and apps together, creating the ultimate Web3 experience.

With the stellar line-up of speakers and wealth of topics covered that evening, those attending no doubt left with a deeper understanding not only of the blockchain eco-system, but also of Huobi’s influential role within it.
