Bitcoin is once again attracting attention as analysts discuss the possibility of a major price expansion before the end of the year. A long-term Bitcoin valuation model known as the Bitcoin Decay Channel has recently projected that BTC could potentially reach a conservative target of $255,000 if market conditions continue to improve over time.

The model studies Bitcoin’s historical market cycles and tracks how price growth gradually slows in each cycle while still maintaining a long-term upward trend. According to analysts, previous bull market tops and bear market bottoms have followed similar patterns within the channel, making it one of the more widely discussed long-term forecasting tools in the crypto market.

Supporters of the bullish outlook believe that institutional demand continues to grow steadily through spot Bitcoin ETFs, corporate adoption, and increasing interest from global investors looking for alternative assets. Many traders also point to macroeconomic uncertainty, inflation concerns, and rising debt levels as factors that could continue pushing investors toward Bitcoin in the coming years.

Some market analysts believe Bitcoin may first experience volatility and corrections before any larger breakout takes place. Technical indicators still show mixed signals in the short term, but long-term investors remain optimistic that BTC could eventually move into a new price discovery phase if buying pressure continues to strengthen.

The crypto market remained subdued on Wednesday as it grappled with a key level of support after bitcoin failed to break above $83,000 last week.

The largest cryptocurrency was recently changing hands at $77,400 after adding 0.7% since midnight UTC. The move comes after a 5% loss over the past week.

Ether ($ETH) outperformed bitcoin, gaining 1% to $2,130, but the broader altcoin market remains mixed; CHZ, TON and ATOM lost between 1% and 3%, while $DASH, STRK and PYTH all increased by 5%.

U.S. equities fell on Tuesday after a selloff in the bond market, with investors now keeping a cautious eye on Nvidia (NVDA) earnings, which are due after the closing bell on Wednesday.

Crypto futures activity cooled across the market, with 24-hour volume falling 29% to $142.76 billion. Open interest (OI) held steady around $127 billion, and liquidations declined for a second day to $153 million, down 47%.

Cumulative open interest in dollar and USDT-denominated bitcoin futures on major exchanges slipped to 257,000 $BTC, while the global OI tally for bitcoin futures dropped by just 1,000 $BTC to 744,000 $BTC. The declines suggest some traders are reducing exposure as the price rises rather than adding to positions.

For $XRP, there's a different story. Open interest has risen by more than 5% to 2.15 billion $XRP, the most since Oct. 11, and the spot price has risen alongside, a combination that typically points to trend confirmation. One caveat, however, is worth noting. $XRP’s 24-hour cumulative volume delta is the second most negative among major coins, suggesting sellers may be leading price action through aggressive market orders rather than passive limit orders. This could indicate some traders are shorting the bounce, perhaps anticipating it may not hold.

Hyperliquid ETFs draw $22.3 million in early inflows, analysts point to 'good sign of organic interest'
Hyperliquid ETFs have outpaced bitcoin and ether funds in market cap-adjusted inflows during parts of their early trading.

Hyperliquid now regularly generates more weekly blockchain fees than Ethereum and Solana.
Hyperliquid-linked exchange-traded funds have pulled in more than $22 million in cumulative net inflows in their first week of trading, which analysts say is being driven by strong demand and the protocol's growing influence across crypto markets.

According to SoSoValue data, the two live U.S. spot HYPE ETFs — 21Shares' THYP and Bitwise's BHYP — have together seen roughly $22.3 million in net inflows since launching last week. The products posted their strongest session yet on Tuesday with over $11 million in inflows.

Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas said THYP, which went live three full trading days before Bitwise's fund, has seen trading volumes climb steadily, now reaching volumes of roughly eight times its first day activity.

"The THYP Hyperliquid ETF is growing volume each day since launch ... a really good sign of organic interest," Balchunas said in a post on X. He added that Hyperliquid's strong fee generation was "probably related" to this.
