Он управлял криптокошельками, куда поступали похищенные средства инвесторов, после чего активы конвертировались в золото. Слитки приобретались у зарубежных поставщиков.

По оценкам правоохранителей, только с января по март 2024 года через счета Хана прошло около $47,3 млн. Эти деньги использовались для регулярных закупок золота. Объем одной транзакции оценивался примерно в $1 млн.

Известно, что ранее Хан обучался в Китае, а затем работал в южнокорейской компании, которая занималась обменом криптовалюты на драгоценные металлы. Арест субъекта произошел после того, как полиция получила информацию о его приезде в Таиланд. Совместно с иммиграционным бюро силовики задержали его прямо на пограничном контроле.
