Высокий суда Дели принял постановление, в котором Министерству связи дается неделя на блокировку и удаление 38 веб-сайтов, ассоциирующих себя с централизованной криптовалютной биржей Mudrex.

Согласно материалам суда, мошенники, выдававшие себя за сотрудников Mudrex, заманивали частных инвесторов через телеграм на веб-ресурсы, якобы принадлежащие бирже. Мошенники обещали потерпевшим различные вознаграждения и возможность трудоустройства в обмен на выполнение определенных заданий либо инвестиции.

«Фактическое число обманутых розничных инвесторов может превысить 1000 человек, а предполагаемый убыток — превысить $50 000», — заявил журналистам генеральный директор и соучредитель Mudrex Эдул Патель (Edul Patel).

Компания Mudrex обратилась в суд после того как десятки человек, пострадавших от рук мошенников, написали об обмане в службу поддержки клиентов компании или пришли в офис в Бангалоре: добавил глава Mudrex.

Накануне правительство Индии заявило о начале расследования деятельности команды мессенджера Telegram. Власти полагают, что социальная платформа могла быть использована для преступной деятельности, включая вымогательство и азартные игры.
