Against the backdrop of accelerating integration between AI and blockchain infrastructure, the UK AI Agent Hackathon 2026 will hold its Opening Ceremony at Imperial College London on March 1, officially kicking off this ecosystem initiative. Co-organized by Imperial AI Group and Imperial Blockchain Society, this event is not only the start of a hackathon but also a cross-disciplinary dialogue converging industry, capital, and policy forces, aiming to explore the structural transformations brought by the fusion of AI Agents and decentralized infrastructure.
The Opening Ceremony of the hackathon will feature a high-level conference spanning multiple fields, with a guest lineup covering the forefront of AI technology, fintech, venture capital, as well as representatives from the UK government and corporate sectors. Former Stability AI CEO Emad Mostaque and Animoca Brands CEO Robby Yung will attend and deliver keynote speeches, engaging in in-depth discussions on generative AI, digital assets, and the next-generation internet structure.
At the entrepreneurship and technology level, several founders and technical leaders active in the AI and Web3 space will participate in dialogues, including representatives from projects such as SuperCell, Compression Company, z.ai (Zhipu AI), as well as multiple founders and investors with successful exits. They will exchange insights on AI Agents, protocol-layer innovations, and market implementation, sharing practical experiences in building products and ecosystems from 0 to 1.
At the capital and industry level, partners and investors from institutions such as BackedVC, RockawayX, Animoca Brands, EWOR, and AdaVentures will participate in the Venture Capital segment, delving into the long-term investment logic and structural opportunities in AI and decentralized infrastructure.
Government and corporate representatives will also attend this event. Representatives from the UK government's fintech-related departments and executives from institutions such as Hugging Face and CogX will join the discussions, exploring the long-term implications of AI and blockchain in regulatory frameworks, industrial upgrades, and social impact.
This hackathon has received sponsorship and ecosystem support from several leading industry organizations. Sponsors include BGA, Virtual Protocol, Flock.io, Unibase, Supercell, Animoca Brand, Sierra.ai, Cantor8, Anyway, and Compression Company, providing resources, funding, and technical collaboration support, along with media support from PANews, to help participating projects build and experiment in a real, usable AI infrastructure environment.
It is worth mentioning that the winning projects of the hackathon will receive ongoing attention and support from multiple VC partners, including institutions such as Animoca Brands, X Ventures, and Delphi Ventures, offering further incubation and investment opportunities for outstanding teams.
