Дуров заявил, что «мир движется в странном направлении» — последние годы люди теряют «цифровые свободы». Создание децентрализованных технологий — это единственный путь сохранить их, считает он. Дуров иронично заявил, что рассматривал для проекта название P.A.I.N (боль).

Согласно презентации, поддержка работы сети будет обеспечиваться GPU-майнерами, которые будут получать вознаграждение в Toncoin (TON), а Telegram обеспечит проекту «спрос и хайп». Разработчики приложений получат доступ к недорогим ИИ-инструментам, тогда как пользователи смогут пользоваться ИИ на условиях анонимности.

В 2024 году Дуров выступал на криптоконференции Token2049, где анонсировал запуск USDT на блокчейне TON и токенизированные подарки в Telegram. Но публичное выступление Дурова — редкость. Чаще он публикует заявления через собственный канал в мессенджере или дает интервью.

В конце сентября в видеоинтервью Лексу Фридману Дуров рассказал про неожиданный успех NFT-подарков в Telegram.
