Alex Pavlov, CEO and founder of DeFi derivatives protocol Spin and partner at Algalon Capital asset management firm, shares some metrics that signal that NEAR Protocol is on the verge of another upsurge.

Mr. Pavlov has taken to Twitter to indicate the most powerful drivers of the upcoming NEAR Protocol (NEAR) FOMO ("fear of missing out").

In terms of net trading volume, NEAR Protocol (NEAR) has already outperformed Avalanche (AVAX) and is closer to surpassing Terra (LUNA) and Solana (SOL), the two most overhyped protocols of 2021.
At the same time, its fully diluted market capitalization remains low compared to the closest competitors, and this can also be interpreted as a sign of undervaluation.
Also, while tracking the audience growth of major non-Ethereum platforms, analytical firm Messari has registered a 55% increase in 2022. This is higher than that of Solana (SOL), Terra (LUNA) and Avalanche (AVAX).
This progress is accompanied by the rocketing increase of stablecoin, DeFi and dApps activity on the NEAR ecosystem.

Last but not least, Mr. Pavlov noticed huge increase in the transactional metrics of retail usage. In 2022, NEAR Protocol went through two massive fundraising campaigns.
As per Dappradar statistics, by mid-April 2022, NEAR onboarded 27 decentralized applications of all types. Mostly, they belong to the marketplaces and games segments.
NEAR Crowd, Paras 2.0 and Ref Finance are the three most popular dApps in terms of user numbers.
A total of $1.37 billion is locked by users of all NEAR-based protocols in all.

Hyperliquid's AQAv2 Converts USDC Yield into HYPE Token Buybacks

Hyperliquid validators have approved the AQAv2 (Aligned Quote Asset v2) structure with 69.08% support. It extends "aligned" status to non-exclusive stablecoins on the platform, starting with USDC, and directs approximately 90% of the yield generated by these reserve assets (after cost adjustments) back into the protocol. With roughly $5-5.5 billion in USDC currently on Hyperliquid, this new yield distribution scheme is expected to generate an additional $135-160 million annually for token buybacks. This supplements the existing ~$771 million already generated yearly from trading fee buybacks. The first payment to the buyback fund is scheduled for October 3rd. This update follows a May agreement with Circle and Coinbase, which saw Hyperliquid phase out its own stablecoin (USDH) in favor of USDC as its primary reserve asset. Coinbase became the official treasury custodian for USDC on Hyperliquid, while Circle handles technical implementation. Circle also committed to staking 500,000 HYPE tokens, aligning its incentives directly with the token's performance. The AQAv2 mechanism adds to an already aggressive buyback program. The Hyperliquid Assistance Fund has purchased over 45 million HYPE tokens for about $1.1 billion. Combined, fee-based and new USDC-yield buybacks could exceed $900 million annually—estimated at four to five times the buyback intensity relative to market cap seen in Ethereum or BNB Chain. A key risk is the AQAv2 payout's dependence on interest rates. The market's first real test will be the inaugural AQAv2 payment on October 3rd.

BlackRock has significantly lowered the minimum threshold for in-kind conversions of bitcoin into its spot ETF, IBIT, from $25 million to $1 million. A trader missed out on over $2 million in potential profit after selling the memecoin $PONS. According to Lookonchain analysts, the user spent 0.25 ETH (around $610) to buy 19.98 million $PONS, later selling the entire amount for 0.47 ETH ($1,166), securing a profit of $556. Subsequently, the value of those tokens surged to approximately $2.2 million, meaning the trader potentially forfeited more than $2 million. However, users pointed out that the paper value does not guarantee the ability to sell the entire volume at the market price. One user noted that at the time of sale, $PONS had already increased by 91%, making the decision to take profits reasonable, as most would have done the same. Another user highlighted the asset's low liquidity, with only about $2.1 million in the liquidity pool, suggesting that a bulk sale would have significantly impacted the price and likely yielded only a six-figure sum at best. Thus, the actual realizable profit would have been much lower than the nominal $2.2 million valuation.

The Algorand Foundation has introduced AC2, an open protocol designed to enable secure user interaction with and control over AI agents. The protocol is blockchain-agnostic, establishing an encrypted direct connection between a user's wallet or application and an AI agent.
