HTXSquare: Global Markets After Trump China Visit

Asset managers Grayscale and VanEck filed amended S-1 registration statements for their respective spot $BNB exchange-traded funds on Friday, bringing the cryptocurrency one step closer to becoming an approved US crypto ETF.

Grayscale filed its second amendment, while VanEck submitted its fifth on Friday. S-1s are one of the main filings that ETF issuers must submit to the SEC for approval, detailing everything from the ETF’s structure and strategy to management fees and risks.

“Another amended S-1 from [Grayscale] on the $BNB ETF… have to guess they are going off feedback from SEC and trying to launch in near future? Could be the next crypto asset to get a spot ETF in the US,” said Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart.

Despite $BNB being the fourth-largest cryptocurrency by market cap at $87.4 billion, it has yet to be included in the growing list of US spot altcoin ETFs, including those tracking Solana (SOL), Litecoin (LTC), $XRP ($XRP) and Hyperliquid (HYPE).

Grayscale filed for the Grayscale $BNB ETF (GBNB) on Jan. 23, 2026, and has yet to disclose a fee for GBNB. VanEck made its first filing for the VanEck $BNB ETF (VBNB) in May 2025 and proposed a 0.39% management fee for VBNB.

The number of altcoin ETFs has grown since the SEC introduced a generic listing standards process in September, replacing the previous case-by-case application review framework.

Wall Street asset managers have also continued to experiment with crypto ETF structures, from staked products and leveraged strategies to futures-linked and multi-asset index funds.

However, reception to the latest spot altcoin ETF has been lukewarm compared to others before it, with the 21Shares-issued Hyperliquid ETF only attracting $1.2 million in net inflows on Thursday, its opening day.

Trump’s recent China visit helped calm global markets for a short time, but investors are still very cautious about the future.

The main focus of the meeting was improving relations between the United States and China, reducing trade tensions, and discussing global economic issues. Markets reacted positively at first because traders hoped both countries would avoid another major trade war.

Some preliminary agreements were announced, including increased Chinese purchases of U.S. agricultural products and discussions about stronger economic cooperation. This helped improve short-term market sentiment.

However, investors quickly realized that most of the agreements were still early-stage and not fully finalized. Important issues like Taiwan tensions, technology restrictions, semiconductor competition, and military rivalry between both countries still remain unresolved.

Because of this, global markets are still very sensitive and volatile.

At the same time, rising oil prices and Middle East tensions are increasing inflation concerns worldwide. Higher energy prices are making investors worry that interest rates could stay high for longer, which creates pressure on stocks and risk assets.

Right now, markets are reacting to three major factors:

My view:

Trump’s China visit reduced some short-term fears, but it did not fully solve the larger geopolitical and economic tensions between the world’s two biggest economies.

For now, global markets may continue experiencing high volatility as traders closely watch:

Just to test which direction the market’s volatility is strongly pushing towards and it seems as if everything just wants to dump.  What is a fake 75x leverage short you might be asking yourself? Well as you know, every trader has their own strategy to doing what they do. One of my strategy is what I like to call a fake either short or long. I enter a position with very minimum amount of money. When I do this I usually do anything between 10 and 20 dollars. Then when I have a strong feeling where the market is truly headed BOOM.
