On January 9, Cambodia's National Bank announced yesterday that Prince Bank, a subsidiary of Prince Group, has been placed under liquidation and is no longer allowed to conduct banking business, including accepting deposits or providing loans. The National Bank of Cambodia stated in its announcement that this decision was made in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The National Bank has appointed MorisonKakMKA auditing and accounting firm as the statutory liquidator to take full charge of Prince Bank's operations and asset disposal. According to the announcement, from now on, Prince Bank must cease all new banking activities, including but not limited to prohibiting the opening of new accounts or depositing new funds, and stopping the approval and issuance of all types of commercial and personal loans. The Ministry of Interior of Cambodia confirmed that Chen Zhi and his accomplices Xu Jiliang and Shao Jihui were arrested on January 6 and deported to China. The three are suspected of involvement in large-scale transnational online fraud, with related charges filed by a U.S. court. Chen Zhi's previously obtained Cambodian nationality was officially revoked by royal decree in December 2025.
