On the 11th of February, Ethereum [ETH] developers and researchers will gather for the first L1-zkEVM workshop. This event may preview a future where validating Ethereum blocks becomes faster, lighter, and more accessible.

The roadmap: L1-zkEVM and EIP-8025
This initiative falls under Ethereum’s 2026 L1-zkEVM roadmap. Its core feature, EIP-8025 (also known as Optional Execution Proofs) introduces a new validation pathway.

Instead of requiring every validator to re-run (or “re-execute”) all transactions inside a block, the system will allow specialized participants, called zkAttesters, to verify blocks using zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs.

Importantly, the upgrade is optional. Nodes that do not adopt it will continue operating exactly as they do today.

Why does this matter?
Currently, Ethereum validators must re-execute every transaction in every block to confirm correctness. As network activity grows, this becomes resource-intensive.

ZK proofs change that dynamic. Instead of repeating all computations, validators can check a cryptographic proof that confirms the block’s validity. Verification becomes dramatically faster and lighter on hardware.

Lower storage, bandwidth, and computing requirements could make running a fully validating node possible on consumer-grade laptops again.

If participation becomes cheaper and more accessible, solo stakers and home validators can remain competitive, even as gas limits and output increase.

Security, architecture, and the bigger picture
With the EIP-8025, blocks would only be accepted once multiple independent proofs (currently proposed as three out of five) are verified. This saves client diversity and reduces reliance on any single implementation.

The crypto market is looking weak as major coins struggle to move higher. Bitcoin and top altcoins like $SOL, XRP, BNB, DOGE, and ADA are all testing important support levels. If these levels break, volatility could increase in the coming days.

For Bitcoin, the $65,000 level is now in focus. There is strong liquidity below the current price, which makes it a likely short-term target. At the same time, price is trending lower while open interest is rising. This means more leveraged positions are building without a breakout. Clay, a crypto analyst and YouTuber, shared his thoughts on the market. He said no one really knows where Bitcoin will go next, but panicking and selling at the bottom is a mistake.

“You want to buy at the bottom and sell at the top,” he said.

Recent analysis shows Bitcoin could test levels between $54,000 and $60,000. Technical charts suggest it might face some pressure, but moving averages around $57,000–$58,000 have acted as support in the past. Bitcoin recently bounced off these levels, which could mean the bottom is forming.

Mike McGlone, Bloomberg’s Senior Commodities Strategist who has predicted Bitcoin (BTC) would reach $10,000 and frequently warned investors, has now issued a warning for XRP.


Accordingly, Mike McGlone warned of the potential for the XRP price to fall below a critical support level.


This warning from the well-known figure comes amidst the ongoing correction wave dominating the overall cryptocurrency market. With this correction, XRP is entering a critical phase, trading near the $1.82 support level, making its price movements a focal point for investors and analysts.


At this point, with the correction trend in Bitcoin and altcoins that began in October continuing, McGlone predicted that sharper declines may be on the horizon for XRP.


Bloomberg analyst Mike McGlone stated that a retest of the $1.82 level is imminent, emphasizing that a sustained close below this level would invalidate bullish price predictions and could lead to further declines.


While this level is not a random one, the $1.82 level holds particular significance as it has served as reliable support since the November 2025 rally.


In a bearish scenario for XRP, the $1.82 support level is important, while conversely, a bounce above $2.06 could signal a short-term recovery towards $2.35-$2.50.


XRP is Preparing for a Big Rally!


In contrast, analyst CryptoBull, using a pseudonym, noted that XRP was consolidating around its previous all-time highs, stating, “The price pattern is replicating the previous bull run.”


CryptoBull stated that a longer accumulation period is needed for higher prices, predicting that the XRP price could consolidate around $2 for an extended period before experiencing a major upward breakout.


At this point, the analyst added, “The next wave of momentum will take XRP to $11, and the final wave will take it to $70.”
