Bitcoin’s $64K rebound has 3 days before its next big challenge threatens to derail momentum
Bitcoin traded near $64,100 on Saturday as the clock ticked toward a key test for its rebound. June's US consumer price index is due at 8:30 a.m. ET on July 14, leaving the market with about three days before the next major macro catalyst.
The largest crypto asset had gained about 2.6% over seven days, according to CryptoSlate market data, but 24-hour volume was running 21% below its recent average. Bitcoin has rebounded, but buyers have yet to fully commit.
The scheduled inflation report will hit a rates market that makes that gap harder to ignore.
Futures-derived probabilities using CME FedWatch methodology put a 64.6% chance on the Federal Reserve holding its 3.50%-3.75% target range on July 29 and a 35.4% chance on a quarter-point hike.

By September, markets see a 50.9% chance of rates reaching 3.75%-4.00% and an 18.8% chance of 4.00%-4.25%. July appears too soon for the next Fed move. CPI will show whether rate-cut hopes have room to return or if fears of a hike take over.

$XRP’s weekly RSI has dropped below 30 for only the second time in 12 years. The last time this happened, $XRP climbed from below $0.30 to over $3.60, seeing a rally of more than 1,100%.

Now, with $XRP trading near $1.10 again, leaving traders wondering if $XRP is preparing for another big rally.
Entrepreneur and popular crypto trader Lark Davis pointed out that $XRP’s weekly RSI has fallen into oversold territory only twice since the token launched.

“In 12 years, $XRP has hit oversold on the weekly RSI. Two times. Not five times, not three times—just two times in 12 years.”

According to Davis, the first time it happened was during the 2022 bear market, when $XRP’s weekly RSI dropped to 28.09 after heavy selling pushed the price from $0.8519 to a June 2022 low of $0.2905.

The second time came in last month in June 2026, when the weekly RSI fell to 29.6, marking another historic low. At that time, the $XRP price fell from a high of $1.34 to a low of $1.020.

But the interesting part is, what happened when this rare signal occurred last time.

I don't think enough people are talking about options trading in crypto.

Right now, onchain options are doing around $525M in 7-day notional volume, still very tiny compared to perps.

Derive is essentially the only major protocol focusing on onchain options, capturing 93% of market share.

There's an obvious question of why crypto options haven't reached mainstream yet, despite doing billions of volume in TradFi.

I personally think it's a symbiosis of product fit, initial adoption of perps, and simply visibility.

I bet most people in crypto didn't even know they exist. They just need more adoption, and I think such listings are a good way to get it.
