UP: The First New Token Bank for Stablecoins

As of 12th February, both red and green charts have taken position within the crypto market. The broader sentiment remains hanging in extreme fear, and the digital assets are cautiously moving. Meanwhile, Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) stay in the bearish zone. On the narrow bullish line, Berachain (BERA) has exploded 73.47% in value over the past 24 hours.

BERA has convincingly tested and broken through its crucial resistance levels between $0.5092 and $1.40. In the early hours, it traded on the downside, at $0.5082, and with the sudden bullish encounter in the Berachain market, it triggered the price to reach a high of $1.50. Will the recent jump lose momentum, or does it have enough room to extend higher?

At the time of writing, Berachain is trading within the $0.9114 zone, with its market cap at $190.08 million. In addition, the daily trading volume has skyrocketed by over 404%, reaching the $1 billion mark. As per Coinglass data, the market has experienced a liquidation of $13.51 million worth of BERA during this interval.

The active bulls of the Berachain could push the price toward the resistance at the $0.9135 range. Upon a continuous upward pressure, the golden cross might take place, sending the asset’s price up above $0.9156. Assuming the bears made an entry, the BERA price might fall and find the initial support at around $0.9093. The death cross could emerge as the downside correction strengthens. The price would retrace below $0.9072.

However, not everyone is bearish on BTC. Swyftx lead analyst Pav Hundal told Cointelegraph that BTC may form a bottom over the next 40 days if history repeats, as BTC bottoms “have historically lagged gold’s relative strength by about 14 months.”

Fundstrat’s Lee sees a crypto comeback once precious metals cool

Fundstrat managing partner Tom Lee predicts that crypto markets will likely catch up once gold and silver begin to take a break from their recent rallies.

Tom Lee said on CNBC’s Power Lunch on Monday that crypto should be going up on a weaker dollar and an easing Federal Reserve.

However, it doesn’t have the leverage tailwind because the industry delevered, “and as long as gold and silver are rising, then there’s a FOMO into buying that instead of crypto,” he said.

“Because when gold and silver take a break, then and in the past, that would lead to a Bitcoin and Ethereum surge afterwards.”

Gold prices hit an all-time high of $5,100 on Monday, following a gain of 17.5% since the beginning of the year. Silver also skyrocketed, hitting a peak price of $110 at the same time after gaining 57% so far this year.

Market observers have attributed the surge in precious metals to rising geopolitical tensions, trade tariff threats, and US dollar weakness, driving investors to safe-haven assets.
October crash still hurting markets

Earlier in the interview, Lee explained that markets were still feeling the ripple effects of the Oct. 10 deleveraging event, which “crippled many key players in the industry,” including exchanges and market makers. As a result, he said, the industry is “limping along, but the fundamentals have improved a lot.”

Bitcoin (BTC) has lost 30% of its value since its October peak and is struggling to find any momentum above $95,000, having tanked back to support at $86,000 on Monday.

“I think the precious metal move has sucked a lot of the oxygen out of the room,” said Lee.

“So, I think crypto prices aren’t quite keeping up with fundamentals, but as you know, when fundamentals go up and to the right, prices eventually follow.”

Japan’s Move on XRP! It’s Being Demoted from Crypto Asset Status! What Does It Mean? Here Are the Details

Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) plans to formally reclassify Ripple’s XRP token as a “regulated financial product” before the second quarter of 2026.

This step means that XRP will be removed from its current “crypto asset” status under the Payment Services Act and placed under the stricter Financial Instruments and Exchange Act (FIEA).

Officials state that the primary purpose of this change is to resolve the discrepancy between XRP’s actual use in Japan and its legal status.

XRP already plays a key role in the country’s banking and international money transfer infrastructure and is actively used by many financial institutions. The new classification aims to make XRP’s legal status more suitable for large-scale institutional adoption in Japan.

Following the reclassification, XRP will gain “investment grade” status as a financial instrument, similar to traditional stocks and bonds. This is expected to encourage new capital inflows into XRP, particularly by increasing interest from institutional investors. It is also suggested that this step could set a precedent for other major digital assets.

Under the new regulations, exchanges and liquidity providers will be required to provide more comprehensive disclosures about the asset’s volatility, technical characteristics, and relationship with the issuer. In addition, insider trading and market manipulation are explicitly prohibited, aiming to strengthen investor protection.
