The reported timeline and target have added fresh attention to the stablecoin issuer’s growth plans, valuation goals, and audit efforts. A Friday report said Tether is pushing investors to commit to a fundraising round at a $500 billion valuation within the next two weeks. The report added that the company may postpone the raise if demand does not meet expectations. However, some investors have shown caution over the proposed valuation. The reported target would place Tether among the world’s largest financial firms if the raise moves forward on those terms. Valuation target draws close attention The reported $500 billion valuation would place Tether above every US bank except JPMorgan Chase. JPMorgan’s market value stands near $794.55 billion, while Bank of America’s market value is about $352.86 billion, based on figures cited in the report. Tether’s main product, USDt, remains the largest stablecoin by market value, with a market cap of about $184 billion. The company also offers other products, including Tether Gold and Tether EURt. The fundraising talks show how Tether is trying to expand beyond stablecoins into several other business areas. CFTC sues 3 states in bid to redefine crypto prediction markets as federal products

Federal lawsuits aim to override state gambling laws, putting the future of sports prediction markets on a fast legal track.
Washington has escalated its fight with states over prediction markets, launching lawsuits that could decide whether these platforms operate as national financial products or state-regulated gambling. The outcome will determine if sports contracts can scale or get forced back into local licensing regimes.

On Apr. 2, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) sued Arizona, Connecticut, and Illinois, with the Department of Justice as a litigation partner.

The regulator demanded expedited rulings that federal derivatives law preempts state efforts to classify event contracts as illegal gambling.

Washington moved to the offensive, trying to establish, as a matter of national market structure, that these products belong under exclusive federal jurisdiction.

The CFTC's published FAQ makes the ambition explicit. The suits are registrant-agnostic, deliberately detached from any individual company's fact pattern so that courts can rule on the preemptive scope of the Commodity Exchange Act itself.

Washington wants category-wide declarations on CEA preemption, binding regardless of which operator or exchange triggers enforcement.

The CEA's exclusive jurisdiction provision is the lever.

The CFTC's theory holds that once an event contract is listed on a CFTC-regulated exchange, states cannot relabel it as unlawful gambling without destabilizing the uniform national derivatives framework, potentially opening the door for states to assert authority over other exchange-traded derivatives that have operated without controversy for decades.

That framing becomes sharper against the legal map heading into April.

Will JPX's index exclusion plans add pressure to Metaplanet stock's 86% drawdown?



Japan Exchange Group (JPX) is mulling blocking firms that park over 50% of their assets in crypto, reigniting fears for Metaplanet and other digital asset treasuries (DATs). 

According to the local publisher Nikkei, the proposed guidelines would block new crypto treasuries that fall in the said category. Additionally, those already listed on JPX’s Tokyo Stock Price Index (TOPIX) would be axed if the proposal is adopted. 

Reportedly, JPX has sought feedback from stakeholders on the same. The move could complicate the scheduled listing of Metaplanet on TOPIX after the October 2026 reconstitution.

In October 2025, Metaplanet was upgraded from small-cap to mid-cap, which prompted its listing on the FTSE Japan Index and the FTSE All-World Index. The upgrade offered more institutional exposure for Metaplanet (3350) stock. 

Still, the JPX’s exclusion could trigger passive outflows from indices and domestic investors that use TOPIX as a benchmark for Metaplanet.

According to the analysis, $SHIB rallied to $0.00000628 on March 25 before encountering strong selling pressure. The token later retested the same zone, reaching an intraday high of $0.00000616 on March 30. However, sellers maintained control, preventing a breakout above resistance.Crypto Patel explained that repeated failures to break higher have shifted the market structure. Attempts to push upward now form lower highs, signaling weakening momentum. This pattern often indicates a bearish continuation trend.

The analyst added that $SHIB is currently retesting the order block near $0.0000060. If rejection occurs again, downward movement could accelerate. However, a 4-hour close above $0.00000630 would invalidate the bearish setup. Such a move could absorb selling pressure and shift momentum.

Downside Targets and On-Chain Pressure Build

Crypto Patel stated that downside targets now come into focus as liquidity zones attract price action. The first key level sits at $0.00000562, marked as having equal liquidity. This target lies about 6% below the current price of $0.00000602.
